1.2 spark plug removal?

My car is stuck in limp mode and misfiring on cylinder two according to vag com. I've replaced two out of three of the coils already and don't think they're at fault.

I've ordered a set of spark plugs but when I went to take the old ones out my socket doesn't fit down the hole? It's too wide.

Is there a proper way to remove the plugs or am I needing a better fitting socket?

And also, am I going down the right path in trying to fix the misfire?

Cheers.

Maybe you are using teh wrong size of spark plug socket, take one of your new plugs into Halfords and get them to match it to a spark plug socket. You should really use a torque wrench when fitting nw plugs as its too easy to over torque them.

had a very similar problem, turned out to be 2 of the injectors...worth checking those out,i changed spark plugs,ht leads and coil packs only to find the injectors were at fault
