I have searched and read a number of threads about the PD engine oil and im possibly more confused than when i started.

I have checked the owners hand book and it recommends 505.01, 506.01 or 507.00 if i have the exhaust filter thing. From reading it looks like only the new leon PD engines have this filter??

Sorry if i have plain missed the answer to this as im sure its on here somewhere but i cant find a definitive answer since this filter cropped up in teh handbook

The Ibiza's over here don't have a DPF.

You just need to put 505.01 spec oil in. Some people put 506.01 in if they're running extra power, but if you're just standard then stick to the 505.01

Probably won't make the blindest bit of difference - but if your engine dies and SEAT can prove you didn't use the right oil they'll try to void your warranty:blink:

Its the right grade so surely it will be Ok. I would imagine Castrol GTX exceeds the VW requirements.
Its due a service anyway, so they wil put proper oil in then I suppose
