Hi, hope someone can help me.
i have an Ibiza Sport on a 2005 plate which has just turned over 25,000miles. i dont drive it "aggresively" ie; rev tits off it and its under warranty till May 08.
in the past 2 weeks in cold mornings my car has trouble starting, which for a car which is quite modern & new is a bit unsettling.
heres how it goes, turn key in ignition - starter motor turns and at the point of which the engine normally comes to life, the engine just "tries" to start, reaches around 2000 revs then dies if i let go of the key. However if i carry on turning the engine over for about 3-5 seconds the engine does start but starts very grumbly. I have noticed no change in terms of performace and the car drives well with no knocks or abnormal noises.
im going to take it the Dealers as its under warranty but what do you guys think about it ? is there a quick fix or is it just how it starts in the cold ( allthough last winter i didnt have a problem : / )
by the way, the other day i did let the car run VERY low on petrol could some **** from the tank have gone in the engine ? allthough when the engine is warm it starts normally
Many Thanks
Reed
