I have recently bought a 2005 Leon Cupra R and it appears to have a misfire. The car has only done 25k and appears to have been well looked after but when you accelerate it seems to have a 'jerky' pull through the rev range...this is much worse when it is cold and can sometimes feel like it completly cuts out for a split second and then back on again...like i say once the engine is warm and has had a good thrapin' it seems to go away but it can still occassionaly feel quite 'jerky' ...please help

oh, I have changed the plugs and to be honest they looked fooked but its still doing it

any ideas?

depends if the coil or coils are breaking down ...my coil failure was sudden proper **** myself...didnt realise either that it had taken number 2 coil with it aswell but only very slightly. you could hardly notice it wasnt until i got it scanned that it showed up

oh i also meant to mention that ive put a bailey recirculating valve on it to replace the standard bosch one....i thought recirculating values were silent?

...mine still makes a ssssssch noise when you lift off....not quite as loud and aggressive as a dump valve though

Coil pack.. happened to me!! Get all of them replaced.. I replaced one, then it was a bit better, so just get all 4 done as it will happen to them all!!! Nothing serious :)

....everyone thought is was the coil packs so may just be worth remembering if anyone has a similar problem, thanks for your replys
