Hi Everyone.

Fitted a 007p just before christmas, and since having it i have noticed quite a big drop in MPG.

Originally i put it down to me driving a little faster etc but i have now calmed down a little and it hasnt got any better.

My commute to work normally shows me about 31MPG but now i cant even get 27MPG from it.

As far as i can tell it is all fitted properly. Does anyone know what it could be? Related at all even?

Would a boost leak (if i hadnt tightened the pipes to the new DV properly) cause a frop in MPG?

Cheers guys

boost leak may effect mpg.

although another thing id look at is the maf. as this presumable got moved about a bit when you fitted the oo7p.

But, honestly can you say hand on heart with 100% certainty that you are drivinghte same?
are the roads not as busy as before? - i get better mpg on busy roads where i have to drive at 40mph than where there is no traffic...

What car do you have? Those figures of 27 - 29mpg are typical for a LCR when driven gently. I have only ever got 32mpg after a loooong motorway journey.

Im pretty sure that im driving the same. I haent thought of the MAF. Not really sure what it is, but ill investigate.

If i drive at 70mph on the way home i get about 31MPG, if i drive at 60 i get 33MPG.

Now when i am driving at 70mph i get 28MPG. I know its not huge, but its still a difference.

It is a 53 LCR.
Thanks

So, how can i tell if the Maf is stuffed? Is it only via vag com? And is the maf just the sensor?

Thanks

I think that your mpg is generally low. I do a 90+ mile motorway journey every friday and sunday and if i didnt get at least 35mpg id be disappointed even though i average 70+ mph. Might just be me being light footed i dont know not like im driving slowly though.

Ive got an LCR with green panel filter, 007P and use V-Power. Got a CC stage 1 last week havent done a decent length journey yet but from what ive seen so far id expect my mpg to go up.

Thats what i thought. I rarely see 35MPG but i will always do more than 30. I have been trying really hard this week and cannot get over the 30 mark.

Which is why im thinking it something else.

Changing the DV over shouldn't effect the MPG unless you have a remap and if so the spring inside the DV may not be the correct one. If the DV is new then it should be set up for standard, if its second hand then maybe the spring is too hard?
Also I've noted recently that driving in conditions where you have lights, air-con, heating, and heated rear screen on will often bump the mpg down. Having the car running and de-icing also makes my trip computer say my mpg is really poor after my commute.

DV WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR MPG.

You dont set up a Forge 007P diverter valve, its plug and play, spring wont have any affect on mpg either.
