Painting my calipers but went wrong.....help

Hi everyone I brought some savage red calpiber paints, but the colour has came out dark pink!!!! what happened, was it the product fault or something i didnt do right??? I was thinking of getting some red hammerite to paint over it, is this a good idea or not?
