I've seen the gold heat wrap that some people use to wrap their intake pipework and was wondering if it insulates aswell as reflects radiative heat.
I'd have thought the majority of the heat comes from convective heat transfer from the hot air under the bonnet rather than radiative heat...
Need your help in desiding do i go for the Gloss Black? Matt Black? Matt carbon? or Gloss Carbon??
Also having the front splitter done just under the grill.

Well, the vinyl arrived today from a german company, thought i'd start with the bumper trims but decided against that and started with some smaller pieces, so, I've now donw the two wing mirror casings and all interior handles.
I'm going to wrap the stereo facia and the climate control unit...
was wondering if there would be any gains from me doing this? thinking of doing downpipe an decat with fiberglass heat wrap. should i do it or leave the downpipe an decat be?

I therefore bought black DEI wrap 5cmx15Meters(way to long, but that what I could get).
But now I have second thoughts about wrapping it! Mostly due to craking, I know this shouldnt happen, but I guess its more likely to happen...
I've noticed my FMIC pipes in the engine bay get very hot and I was thinking in maybe wrapping them with exhaust wrap?
Would this be a waste of time seeing as it passes through the cooler or do you reckon its worthwhile?

Very proud owner of a lovely carbon wrap on the roof of my K1. I am however a little concerned over maintaining its looks. Can anybody recommend a cleaning regime/products or is it best to leave alone and just wash off with soapy water once a week

looking at a turbo back system, when i had a FRS it was the dun thing to heat wrap from the turbo down, and it did help reduce engine temps, as the turbo was at the top front of the engine bay.
is it worth it on the LCR systems,

Im having problems with my exhaust, where it loops over the rear beam it rattles off teh rear beam. I was wondering if i wrap it in heat wrap would it stop the rattling? IVe tried a few things but they just melt away, at least this wont melt :)
Any ideas?
