On my 2004 LCR my rear bushes in ma front wishbones are about gone but heard you can replace just the bushes. But was then told it was better just to replace the wishbones coz replacement bushes wont last as long, Im confused coz the bushes get pressed into new wishbones so why cant you just...

For anyone curious to see what these look like off the car! The front of the car would be towards the wall. Note the dogbone mount sticking forwards in the middle, with S3 lower brace running beneath it. A ball joint bolts to the outer end of each wishbone and the joint fixes to the bottom...

Am i right in thinking that wishbones are just bits of metal, with no bits that can come loose/break? Im just thinking my dealer is trying to pull a fast one saying one of the wishbones is "loose" and the whole wishbone needs replacing :confused:

Guys, This weekend i'll be mostly replacing both front wishbones, with new bushes.....:p My question is.......Haynes says that the Pivot bolt at the front of the wishbone should be replaced when the wishbone is replaced.....? Is this a haynes 'totally safe' you don't really need to do...
