lube

Need advice all you TDI Gurus, I have a drip from the inlet pipe, not serious but very messy, drips onto drive shaft, gets sprayed around, Do I have to take all of the inlet manifold off to get to it? I had to take off a lot of pipework, just to see it. Anybody repaired this, in car...

is there anything else i can use instead of the proper lube stuff in the bottles that costs a furtune every time, i am using the zymol stuf but this bottle has nearly gone and hasn't lasted long, It seems that you get better results from using lots of lube but it is expensive..:p :p :p
