For the first time in 42000 miles my inspection warning has started to flash in the display. It was only serviced a month ago. Any ideas as to why its flashing and how do i remove it from the display?

Ive got the INSP message on my dash, I've searched and read up on how to reset it, however before I do - i'm just checking that its not flashing up due to a problem with my car.
I think I remember it coming on last year, close to when the service was due - so assumed it was just the service...

Got in to drive home from work tonight and was surprised to see the INSP message appear with only 3,200 on the clock :confused:
I'll contact the steelers tomorrow but has anyone had this happen before...
I know the service warning light comes on early on UK cars, but mine came on at 7350 miles today. A bit early is it not?
I don't care too much, I just reset it as soon as I saw it, but I'm just curious.
Also, does anyone know if it works out on an annual basis as well? The reason I ask...
