I want to test whether an issue I have been having is related to the MAF and some people have suggested disconnecting it and seeing if the problem goes away on a short drive. The thing is, I have no idea how to do this, I'd probably struggle to tell you where the MAF is exactly! I know it's...
Hi folks,
I was checking to see if my mp3/usb radio would work in my Ibiza mk5 a while back, so i took the standard radio out. The radio did work fine, but didn't look as good as the original. So 10 minutes later i put the original one back in.
To my horror, it was asking for a radio code...

After changing the N75 valve on my car, it's still having problems. This morning it was idling very rough and almost stalled.
I disconnected the MAF sensor, and it ran smoothly on the way to work. The thing is, I expected the engine management light to come on but it didn't. Is this normal...
Hi guys going to disconnect my battery to reset the ecu.
Just wondered will i lose my remote central locking i know the radio code will have to be put back in.
Will i need to reset anything else.?
I plan to disconnect the battery at the end of each Sunday to stop me having to jump start it again each weekend (I don't use the car through the week). I'm not likely to harm anything by this am I? Is the ECU OK not having any power to it at all for periods of time?
Does disconnecting the battery reset the ECU? If so, how long should it be disconnected for?
Also, does resetting clear any fault codes? I haven't got any, just curious :)
thanks, Craig
