boot latch

Hi guys, hope all is well, I am having trouble with my boot latch in my 2011 facelift Leon FR Mk2, it won’t close. I have a mate that has a boot latch off a 2008 prefacelift Mk2 and said he will give it to me if it fits. My question is will it fit and are they the same? Thank you in advance...
