Steering column removal

I hate to repost but I asked on another topic, "clutch pedal snapped" about removing this as I need to get my pedal box out to weld it back up.

I cant seem to work out how to remove it.

I tried disassembling the height adjuster but this didnt work. There are two bolts that hold in the bracket for the adjuster however they have no heads on them. I'm thinking i might have to drill them out?

Hi Mork, You mean these ones? (below) they loosen part of the metal bit the adjuster bracket is mounted to, I also removed these (pic 2) which are behind the air venting tube behind the clocks, but no luck, the metal bit is still attached to something.

yeah - those are the ones!

I'll look tomorrow on the coupe as that's in bits as to where the others are.

Found out, they are shearbolts.

So its cold chisel time tomorrow.

The part is apparently only £24 +vat, well i think thats what i'm getting it at.
