My AC has just stopped working? Was fine (very cold) earlier on today. Just blows hot air at me now.

Usually when i press the AC button the front cooling fans go in to hyper drive to blow the air through but now they don't seem to be changing speed. The revs do flutter a little when i press the button as usual, so i'm guseeing the AC motor is coming on ok. Checked fuses under dash and on top of battery, all are fine.

Any ideas?

Oustide temp reads 33°C which is about right. I was under the impression that the aircon slowly gets warmer if the gas needs sorting?

I think the problem lies with the front fans not doing there usual trick of spinning at a million miles an hour?

Front fans are working fine with respect to cooling the engine though, there just not increasing speed when the AC button is pushed.

I've also just tried an ECU reset (battery off for 30mins) but still no joy.

My air-con doesnt work either, i have re-gassed it but still no joy, my external temp sensor shows nothing however so i guess thats the problem.

Is it as simple as me changing this sensor or is something else broked as there is no temp being shown at all?

Thanks, Rick

beaker, did you remove the fuses from the box ontop of the battery, mine went like this last year and i got it regassed and still no good, eventually took out the fuses ontop of the battery to find it had gone right at the base hard to see unless you remove the fuse.

If that fuse is the culprit then the water pump which buzzes after you turn the engine off will also not be working!
My external temp sensor in the mirror also ins't working but my air con still blows cold air through! It just take a few mins to come through properly.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread but I have a new temp sensor to install but couldn't figure out how to do it. I've heard of people cutting the wires to save feeding through the connection block but I can't even get to the sensor (lame!). I took out the single screw and was pulling on the plastic housing but nothing happened! I ouldnt mind getting it sorted! Thanks
