I've just discovered my LCR has another problem....this time major!

It looks like the car has had a checkerd past as its been sprayed!!!! Not just a little bit...A LOT! When I picked it up I noticed to my horror the front fog light surround was smashed (never saw that before), told the dealer who was, er, trying to be suprised "oh yeah, we will sort that out"....ok, I thought, I will have to trust you!

Now I must admit to pointing out ONE area on the car that had a bit of overspray windscreen plastic as was told "it must have just had a scratch" hummmm, ok thats believeable, mine PX had a new bonnet after it started to rust!

Now tonight, lovely evening, thought Id clean and polish it... started washing and discovered a dodgy paint finish around the said foglight...hummmm, looks like its had a knock and not repaired well, blood pressure going up...... cont with the cleaning.......blood pressure getting higher....noticed a few stone chips on the rear 3/4 panel...UNDER THE FINISH!!! and more and more! My heart sank even further when I noticed that the driver side rear window has been replaced. Ive now gone all over the car with a fine tooth combe and It looks like most of its had extra paint from leaving Spain!!! I'm soo upset, and lost all interest in what should be my pride n joy!

Guys, help...what should I do???? Can I demand my money back or a exchange? Seat offer a no quibble exhange which i now want to test...I dont want my LCR anymore I'm soo upset, f88ked off and angry!:censored: [:@]

Gutted for you:( ...............If I were you mate I'd take it back under the exchange scheme and either get your money back or ask for a replacement to be found.
The car will never feel the same to you and it's not what you paid for!
But you did the right thing by buying from a dealer as you have more come back when it comes to issues like this.

Give them chance to sort it out but be firm with them and I'm sure in the long it'll be worth it.

Cheers Julian. Just dont know what say to the dealer, they are just going to turn round and say "its a used car sir" I know it! It need rubbing down and spraying again, I dont want that, is silver, its never going to look the same again and I know have no confidence in the car at all... and it wasnt cheap!

I know this is going to sound a bit ott, but I gave up cleaning it I was soo gutted!

I know how you feel mate, my last car had had a rear end shunt before I bought it, but it never came to light until I reversed into a bollard.
It was too late to take the car back( I'd had it 12 months), but I still got the dealer to sort the original problem. The car never felt the same again though:(
The thing is you bought from a dealer to give yourself more security if things went wrong. That's why you pay dealer prices.
Go back and be fair with them, tell them what YOU want them to do about it. If you get no joy then ring the Seat customer service helpline and tell them you want to reject the car.

When I bought my LCR it had a paint defect that the dealer didn't want to know about , but after I rang Seat myself, the car was sorted.

Good Luck and don't be scared to say no!!

I so hope you are to able to sort all of this out! You must feel totally gutted! I hope you dont mind me asking, but did you pay full book price for the car, if so, this is criminal!

Are you married? If you are, I bet your wife wants to kill you for wasting all that cash!!

i would take it back and demand another one.... NOT SILVER....

On the FR Leon day I had at the Pro-Drive test track, we drove about 7 different silver LCR's ragged to pieces up and down all day and even saw one smashed up on the side where the drivers had crashed it on the track... i asked the guy at Seat what happens to all these Silver LCRs after they have been used for a year as these "test drive" cars.. he said, they are sold on as 2nd hand used cars.... couldnt believe my ears...

So sorry to hear it mate, take it back money back or get another one...
