rip out all the piping dan and leave the Canister pluged in to the actual circle bit on top which pulls out the box....

then Blank off the nipple on top of the Throttle bodie im doing mine today...you will get a EML light every so often but it wont effect the car at all..

Im thread digging at the moment for a Resistor for it....and same for the n249....

What is its function?
I see alot of people removing alot of things from the engine bay and It makes me wonder because if they did nothing positive they wouldn't really spend thousands on RnD

I see, So will the removal of the canister increase emissions?
Not really a worry for me I'm running decatted, just incase people search in future! (Like noobs EVER search ANYTHING)

May it cause you to fail your Emission test in the UK?

Dan i was looking into this a while back. On the early vag cars they just had a vacuum hose with a inline n80 valve with no carbon canister as standard. Could get one of these n80 and run it the same way. Just a thought.

What does it actuallydo?
Where is it connected to?
If its an activated carbon filter for oil vapour removal, then it should get replaced at some point, as the carbon media will eventually become saturated surely?

Dan, i removed mine a while back the light comes on nearly every day, really did my head in so i put it back, but only plugged in and with the vac hose to the mani, the fault i got was incorrect flow so nothing the resistor will stop its the ecu picking up on somrthing.
