vr6 clutch and g60 flywheel?

hi people my clutch is starting to smell now everytime it gets warm, and is not pulling as hard as it did! so think my clutch will be on its way out soon!! so am looking at new clutchs, and was wanting to upgrade as will hopefully be making the car hybrid at the end of the year!

i have been reading about the vr6 clutch and g60 flywheels?
what is the total price for the bits and what bits would i need?
is this a good way to go?
will this make much difference, ie with different flywheel etc

and have already searched but so many people have posted different bits and links ups! so would like a clear list from someone who already has this setup?

As I learnt it was that the regular clutch can take up to 350 newton of torque which supposively is 258 ftlb. As many on here exceed that amount when they remap their car, especially custom phase 2, they opt for the vr6 clutch and g60 flywheel as it can take more of a beating (not sure how much more).
Also the flywheel of the G60 is much much lighter...

To convert to G60 flywheel & vr6 clutch

The new part no's
028 105 269 bx flywheel £90.03 + £25 + VAT = £135.16

The part no for the bolts
N10 101 001 & n90 206 103 x6each cost me £4 for all 12

Part no from euro car parts for clutch kit is
641440660 £64.16 inc vat.
look under the vw golf 1997 vr6

Pulled that from an old thread so not sure if prices have changed.

Eurocarparts and GSF stock all the bits. My clutch is doing the same, starting to pong abit after some abuse so i may be going down this route soon.

I have a Vr6 clutch with fiblanza G60 Lighten flywheel Its abit rattle But Was awesome on my k03s and it just loves to rev..

Im using it on Gt2x now...So time will tell

I cant remeber the G60 flywheel was 150quid lightened..

I got the prices somewere i got my clutch from ECP and the bolts from Vw

In the first link they dont supply to engine code AYP, sure thats my engine code, is the AQX one the same?

Not to worry, read some reviews on techiclutch and its safe to say i wont be getting one. Did not get good reviews, and is abit on the cheap side, guess the saying pay cheap pay twice is true. Going to get a quote from Awesome GTi on one of these

I had this setup up my hybrid and it ran fine, only cost around £200 for all the parts aswell. I never bothered getting the flywheel lightened either, but it doesn't cost much to get that done

you would be saving loads of weight as it is with single mass anyway. I couldnt believe how heavy the dual mass one was. lol.

on my first cupra i had stage 2 custom jabba map on it and it had 309 newton of torque on a std cluth and fly wheel and it seemed fine

Thats one of the reasons i never bothered, switching from a dual mass to a single mass made the clutch light enough for me

Some seem to hold up. I know Ian_cupra's running the standard clutch on his hybrid at the min and its not given up, mine lasted to about 6 months into my ko3s. But my clutch seemed a bit dodgy when i bought the car. Put the VR6,G60 setup on and was surprised on the difference for the price it costs

I went for this setup aswell as my clutch started slipping when hitting boost in high gears, as chris says is a good mod for its money... ~£200 for the parts...awesome.

how much would it cost do you think in all to get the vr6 clutch done brought and fitted because im going ko3s this year n dont want clutch issuses later down the line so may as well get one fitted

thanks for all the replys, just to clarify looked on europarts but which model am i looking at as they list loads for the golf vr6, can someone post the link please?
and i take it i get the bolts and flywheel new from vw?
and thats it, it all just bolts straight on?

edit: have found the kit on ecp now only thing is they list 2 different makes which is best? LUK i pressume as this is the name that came up when i searched? also it lists it as 230mm? presume this is a mistake?
