I need help, car is very sick
Driving to football tonight, accelerating off a roundabout and got a little wheel spin, thought nothing of it and just lifted off the throttle. All of a sudden I hear POP/BANG and lose power and EML light comes on. Car feels/sounds like the exhaust has gone. Pull over and there is a nasty smell coming out of the exhaust tip and it sounds like the baffles have gone in the back box!! Turn car off for a few mins and then re-start, still got EML light on but it goes out after a few seconds.
So I start to limp it home. Pull out and there is no power what so ever. First thoughts were turbo went pop but as I drive further I can still hear it trying to spool. So I'll rule that out.
Driving home and notice EML light coming on and going back off, at randome I first thought. But paying more attention to it it would only come on when the car was requesting boost (foot down a little EML on, lift off a little more and it goes out).
It almoste feels like its running on 3 cylinders, which got me thinking it could it be coil pack(s) or spark plug related?
Only thing I have done to the car in the last few weeks was fit a Forge 007p today before I went out, but all seamed and acted fine.
I dont have vag-com and I know I desperately need to get it on. Worsed case, I'll have to pay a garage to stick a computer on and see what it says.
Any Ideas guys?
