Hi I'm new to this forum but have been in and out for info over the last few years and decided finally to list myself for the record.

Anway, I think I already know the answer to this one (i.e. no way), but has anyone had a go at those '+25 bhp' air temp tuning modules. They're about £20 or so on ebay (I know never a good place to start) but feedback appears to be good from many users. They look reasonable quality with vag fitments.

I know the usual addage is 'if it's too good to be true then it probably is' but do they up the power fooling the car it's cold out there and if so would the use of such an item cause damage to the vehicle?? Definately a techy question but I do understand basic physics.

All of this links back to the idea of remapping my 04 TDi Cupra (after some research). I've had this car since new, its bought and paid for with only 30k on the clock and I'll probably keep it for a couple more years at least. Had thought about remapping previously but was concerned over warranty issues. Warranty finished on July and so did the payments. Judging from the forum looks like I'll be seeing Mr 'P-Torque' soon. :D

have a search back for tuning box, its what your looking at. Just fools the system and is a harsh method of getting more power, essentially making the car overfuel. theres tons of info about them on here, and i could talk for ages about them but its all been covered before.

Air temp only is usefull on a tdi when you have small intercooler and plenty of boost, with the riight combination of prettry warm fuel temp and hot IAT your ecu will retard the timing for the NOx emissions and stuff..

When you have decent intercooling, wich in your case is nor problem (cupraD) you will see 0.0hp gain from this mod..
