has anybody else problem with locking system ? (rear doors) which makes knocking when car runs over pot-holes ?
Seems to be poorly attach to door frame. It has started at driver side, dealer solves it (tightens the lock), but doors r little bit hard to close.

Guess, its not right way to solve this problem..... because it grates when bodyframe is twisting.

Funny you should say this... My left rear door as begun knocking, I thought it was down to the dealer taking trim off door and not putting it back properly.

Will talk to dealer next week. Another feature of the mk2?!!

affraid you are gonna be dissapointed, because it can be same reason as i wrote above ......
Dealer doesnt try and search what exactly makes knocking. Only thing they do is disassemble
door and reassemble it back. You have to say and show, "this is what makes knocking, fix it" (door lock). Thats only way you can be succesful :)

news : passanger´s doors have started "knock knock"

its pretty sure, that noise is coming from door lock !

Yeah its definetly the catch as I've wrapped some insulation tape around it and the rattle / knock has stopped.

Dealership are usually ok when it comes to rattles as I normally am able to tell them exactly where its coming from. Last time I went in for a rattle (Mk1 FR) technican told me that SEAT only allow a short period of time to work on such problems hence why its hard for them to be able to solve it first time everytime.

I had this problem with the driver's door on my '06 Toledo.

It's caused by the misalignment of the door lock with the striker plate.

Simply tightening the door in with not fix the problem, as the knocking sound is caused by the door not resting it's weight on the striker plate, but rather hanging from the hinges only. When the body frame flexes (like when going over a speed bump slowly), the door moves vertically knocking off the striker plate briefly.

You need a very cooperative dealer who is willing to waste half an hour making small adjustments to the striker plate position, in a trail and error fashion, or a set of star bits yourself and keep adjusting the thing until it is 'just right'.

You don't want the door to physically bang off the striker when closing (ie the striker is too high), but you do want the striker to be just beneath this point so that the door's weight rests gently on it when fully shut. When this is right the knocking sound will not happen.

Hope this helps.
