Warning light - Help!

Can anyone clear something up for me about my new Altea please:

An amber symbol has lit up and stays on - it is a picture of a car with two wavy lines underneath. I know that this symbol stands for the esp, but my manual says that the esp warning light is a triangle with an exclamation mark inside it.

Basically, is the car with wavy lines a warning or not?

Sorry if I seem thick - I've never had a car with such a warning system before.

Thanks.

the light indicates that either the esp is turned off (by pressing the switch in centre console) or the there is a fault in the system. The switch for turning it off should reset when you turn the ignition off so if the light is on all the time, you should contact your local dealer

Is that not the symbol / warning for the traction control? If it is it turns on and off with a switch in the central console, next to the door unlocking switch.

thanks Hobbit - I've checked the manual and it's definitely the eps.
