Hi everyone, driving my car tonight took it for a fill up at BP pulled out of the garage to accelerate up to speed on the duel carrageway and i get under took by a mondeo Taxi. me thinking god he's a bit quick then i reallised my 0-60 is down to about 15s:wtf:
turned around to go back home and the car is making a funny noise i 3rd gear under load(very similar to an exhaust blowing {chav style:confused: }). got it home have a look for anything unusual everything looks alright to me (me being an expert obviously:D ) but with the bonnet up when i let off the right peddle there is a hissing noise from the drivers side, not a turbo spooling noise a propper hissing sounds like somthing is leaking. anyone who has any idea please post i haven't got a clue

incorrectly installed hose weak hose clip they are the crap one use ones that you squeeze to open them up then spring back to close! get under the car and have a look around for a completely lose hose if you dont find that get somone to rev it while you lok so you can hear where its coming from!

ah yea should do not got that on mine lolcan get to that area easy or you can take the bumper off not to difficult that way you can check evereything
i would start from the turbo and work your way to the intercooler then back to the inlet manifold
most of the connetcions around the back of the engine are push fit ones and intercooler ones are the crappy clips!

so it's the intercooler! exhaust i was told is pretty much in a near new state, but when i took the headlight cover of the front the big hose thats just underneath it from the intercooler is almost off, i've tried to press it back on but it won't budge, unfortunate stealer visit me thinks

Tried to take te clip off but it woudn't move even had the AA out to try and he couldn't move it either(use the SEAT care line as my car has membership for 5 years ha ha!) The AA man pointed out that he thought it's been repaired badly before and someone just pumped some sealant in a :censored: ed up the top of the intercooler up cos it look bent:wtf:
So i'm going to have to take it in to SEAT for it to be done on warrenty, gits sold me car like it so they can repair it

too True mate, bit annoyed with SEAT dealer as well to be honest, the service dept was shut when i got there and bloke there said they might be able to fit it in next week but maybe not:confused: he didn't really have a clue and he also said if i got someone other than them to fix they would have to void the warrenty:(
had nothing but arregance(spelling?) and half *rsed customer service since i picked up the car.

Just to give you some confidence in dealer ability to refit boost pipes...

I couple of years ago I took my Mk4 TDI Sport in to the dealers for a cambelt change. Now, changing the cambelt requires removing the top plastic boost hose to allow access. These hoses had never been disconnected before. Because I'd paid for a maintenance plan, the car had only ever been to the main dealers for work.

When I went to collect the car, I was told there was a problem. They said the boost pipe was "worn" and could not be reconnected properly, it kept popping off under boost. They wanted to charge me something like £80 for a new bit of pipe. Obviously I played hell because the only way something could have happened was down to them, and how the hell could a pipe be "worn" ?
Anyway, they wouldn't budge.

So I told them to reassemble the existing parts, and I drove it home with a very light foot.

I got the bumper off and had a good look at all the joints. Nothing wrong with them - the only problem was that the monkey of a tech didn't push the pipe fittings together hard enough before fitting the horseshoe clip.

I put the pipes all back together carefully and didn't have a single problem in the further 20,000 miles I drove the car...
