Looks tidy enough for that sort of money. Engine could do with a good steam clean though

Let's be honest though... even if you spend 4 time that getting it up to the standard you want it, it's still a good value car!

Get that piece of shat the fork off that car mate, its an ecotek valve, it makes that noise on deceleration as its supposed to be helping save fuel, its a load of bo11ocks mate. It also cuts into your brake servo so please, get it off sharpish.

For what its also worth, id wire wool your suspension struts etc down and give it a coat of the same black paint to stop it rusting any more.

you could remove the short end and connect the rest back onto where its coming from with a jubilee clip or, get a small bit of metal tubing to bridge the cut and jubilee clips each end to make it air tight.
If you are really stuck, remove the filter, tighten the valve as tight as you can get it and rotate it so noone can see it with the filter off.

brakes are easy compared to some of the jobs you could take on. (bushes for example)
Is the interior missing plastics or were they blingy bits that you have removed?
(a set of mats will clean the interior up something brilliant too matey)

Or nearside being near to the kerb, pedestrians, etc?

Nice buy, I thought my old GTI 16v was a bit of a bargain, but you've beat me!

I may actually have some dash grilles in my garage that you can have. They may need a lick of matt black spray paint as they've been on the garage floor for a while. If noone has offered you any more by next Wednesday, PM me and I'll post them to you! I'm off to Le Mans :D
