Nuts... I must find one mp3 tagger that does it all!

Got one plugin for itunes that does all of the tags, then another that resizes all the artwork, now I need one to take the tags and rename the files, then I'll have to redo the playlists.

Let's see what it looks like tomorrow... Fingers and toes crossed that the car arrives!

Are there any video formats which work with the memory card slot? I've seen on other posts that some ipods can stream video to the infotainment system. My phone's an android and it's fine steaming bluetooth audio, but it would be cool to watch video too either through the usb or memory card slot......

Audio only from the sd card methinks.

I'm using a 64gb sdxc card and it works faultlessly.
I opened windows media player first and made sure I matched all my albums up using the "find album info" option on there, this makes sure everything is in the correct order and also provides correct album art, the only down side is it sometimes can not find the correct details if it is a deluxe album or one with extra tracks.
Sort them into genre, artist and then album so they are easy to search for

How do people get the album art to show on the display. I've only just got the car and placed the SDHC card from my previous car into it. All the tracks/albumbs etc. work but can't see the album art. I use iTunes for all of my music and they all have album art showing on there and when listening on my iPhone.

Sanse MP3 art sizer..

it will show you what the art is for each track and resize if required.

All my albums are in seperate folders so I did one folder at a time...

All working.

I see no reason why it should not work. I was dubious about 64Gb seeing that the manual states something much smaller, but it's fine.

Got my Leon this morning so I've been experimenting with album art on SD cards this evening.
Originally tried 500x500 pixels and all sized at < 100k - found that some display, but most don't.
Took the size down to 400x400 with the Sanse resizer, and all the ones I've tried so far display correctly.

Skipping from one album to the next album stored on SD Card

Loving the SEAT Sound System which I think is the equal of the BOSE I had in my old Audi A3.

Also love a big SD Card selection of albums on MP3 and having the album artwork displayed which all works faultlessly on the Nav High display.

What I can't seem to do very easily is switch from one album to the next - excuse my memory if I've asked this before, but is there a way of skipping through the album list using the steering wheel controls - I can change track no problem, but if I want to go to another album, I either have to flick the album cover artwork on the touch screen and try and find the album that way (not easy when you're driving!), or press SELECTION top right of screen, then press a very small screen button (2nd one in top left of screen) at least twice to get a list of options which includes artist or album search which seems long winded.

Sorry again if we've been here before, but did a search on "Album search" and couldn't find anything!

I've been using a Verbatim SDXC 128Gb card for some months, without any problem - apart from being nowhere like filling it!

Got my MY16 last week with the tec pack and mirror link. So far I have used an ipod classic on the usb and it works perfectly, it picks up album art, playlists and all the other ipod options. I am about to order a 128gb card but is there anyway I can get a SD card to pick up playlists in the same way as the ipod ie a collection of albums or songs. I don't use media player.

Processing music collection for car use

This may be of use to someone, the procedure I used to get my music collection onto SD card for the car, with all tracks playing in the correct order and with album art displayed .

CD ripping to FLAC and converting FLAC to MP3.
Tool: dbPowerAmp https://www.dbpoweramp.com/ not free
Settings:
MP3 VBR -V 1.5
ID tag processing: Album art 300x300 max, 50KB max, force embedded to JPG.
ReplayGain: Track and Album gain
Volume normalise: max amp x8, max vol 0dB.
Dynamic range compression: Threshold -3dB, ratio 2:1, Attack 3ms, Release 5ms.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Process MP3 ID tags
Ensure ID tags are set for: Artist, Album, Title, Track. Also Genre and Year if desired.
Tools: MediaMonkey, MP3tag for Auto-tagging, tag editing.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/ free
http://www.mp3tag.de/ free

Force album art size to 300 pixels
Tool: Sanse MP3 art sizer http://hcware.t15.org/mp3art/ free
Settings:
300 pixels, quality 85% (upscales if necessary).
Non square art will work in the player as long as one dimension is 300 pixels.

Process MP3 files for track ordering in portable/ car players.
Tool: MP3 track fix, I wrote this one.
http://www.esatclear.ie/~rdrohan/software/MP3trackFix.zip free
Unzip it, right click and select Run with Powershell.
If a notice appears about Execution policy, enter Y for yes.

This is a Powershell script which will:
1. Make the filename equal to 3 digit track ID tag + title tag. This allows tracks to play in the correct sequence where the player uses alphabetical order, common in automotive and AV amps.
2. Sets the file timestamp according to the track ID tag. This allows the tracks to play in the correct sequence where the player uses timestamp order, found in some portable players.
