According to boost gauge, it spikes at ~1.6bar and turbocharger holds boost as follows:

1.5bar to 4500rpm
1.4bar to 5000rpm
1.3bar to 5500rpm
>1.1bar from 6000rpm to above the redline

After change of the spring in the Forge 006 DV from Blue to Green + spacer, it does no longer spike at all.

The actuator nut has also been tightened (a bit more than 1/4 turn) to get rid of wastegate flutter under boost.

The hose to the top of the DV (where the boost gauge tube splices in) has been changed for a stronger braided-rubber one.

It holds boost as following:

1.4bar to 4000-4500rpm
1.2-1.3bar to 5000rpm
1.1-1.2bar to 5500rpm
Halfway between 1.0 and 1.1bar above 6000rpm

It raises boost smoothly and holds boost with no oscillation, noises or buffeting, the needle jumps into boost at the slightest push on the throttle and stays like set in concrete at the correct pressure, but does not raise to the 1.5 bar line ever.

It feels more linear, controllable (and a bit laggy below the low-rpm boost threshold) in power delivery.

Should get a new dyno test to check if the drop in boost turned into a drop in power, if this happened I'll fit back the Blue spring. I would hate to need the Blue spring again, as the DV operates much smoother and linear with Green.

i hope its okay i ask here, with a k03s hybrid or k04 hybrid how early can you see/expect 1bar of boost if you run 4th/5th/6th gear from 1500 rpm and on full pedal.

im real curious how early it creates pressure compared to a stuck turbo on stage 2map

Changed the DV 006 spring back to Blue to check.

Ran the same route, immediately afterwards, same temperature, same traffic.

Results:

1. The boost raised as described above, regained the lost 0.1bar, at all rpms.

2. As seen on the gauge, the Blue spring DV is visibly slower to react - if on Green spring the slightest push on the throttle raised boost, on Blue spring the movement of the gauge is delayed by a fraction of a second at all pressures and rpms.

3. Dumping the air charge is audible on both springs, but the boost decreases slower on the gauge on Blue spring.

4. As a conclusion:

- Green spring (+spacer) - quicker to spool, quicker to react, more linear, more civilized, less boost, maybe a few bhp lost.
- Blue spring - slower to spool below 4000rpm, slower to react, more torquey, more boost, makes up to 230bhp. (Somehow like having a "Race N75 Valve".)

Blue spring must have either lost its factory tempering, or the Blue spring for 006 is different compared to 007, because it felt similar in hand to a brand-new Yellow spring.
