  1. GUIDE: Retro fitting OEM Satnav MFD2/MFD3

Just joined and thought I'd mention my solution to replacing the stock radio in preference of a MFD clone. I went for a DNX520VBT DVD/CD Radio with GPS Receiver and USB/ iPod interface I considered the MFD option (and I also briefly considered one of those Chinese options on eBay) however I...

    android head unit. Whos got?

I went with the Pumpkin 8inch Android 4.4.4 VAG specific chinese thingy (see amazon.co.uk/Pumpkin-Navigation-Multimedia-Multi-media-Mirror-link/dp/B00RDRVOEE). Still part way through installation, but so far I'm fairly happy - it fits perfectly within the RNS fascia and looks very OEM. In terms...

  7. RCD510 with USB Support Review (Delphi Chinese Model)

Hello Everyone, I recently bought a RCD510 + Rear view camera (Chinese unit) to replace the RCD310 that came with my 2014 León. The car also came fitted with Bluetooth under the right side seat (operated from the full MFD), MFSW, Climatronic (the one with two dials), Parking sensors and...
  8. RCD510 with USB Support Review (Delphi Chinese Model)

Well, last week the Delphi RCD arrived and today I could finally mount it. At first everything seemed to work fine, but a malfunction on the MDI and a bunch of errors on VCDS came up. The AUX and the USB ports (located in front of the hazard lights) weren't working at all and the radio wasn't...

    GUIDE: Retro fitting OEM Bluetooth

It appears that my 2011 Leon 1.2 TSI is a "GoodStuff" model, which means it has had bluetooth fitted as an option (It didn't come as standard from what I can see but I can confirm it's there because I use it) but the A2DP functionality doesn't seem to be activated (or available). I'm guessing...

  12. Multimedia Units (Erisen or kenwood dnx520vbt)

Hi I have recently decided to upgrade my bog standard single din radio unit in my 2010 seat Leon, to a double din multimedia system. I have a budget of £400 to £500. I have been doing a bit of research and have come across a few Kenwood dnx520vbt for £450 (2nd hand), they seem to have good...

    Recommend a new Head Unit

I've got one of the Chinese models, Bought it second hand from someone on VW Audi forum, it was a year old and has been in my car for another year. Only problem I had was the gps unit had a split cable, ordered a replacement off eBay for a fiver and works a treat. My bluetooth is very basic, but...

    Recommend a new Head Unit

Think that's different to what I was looking at as yours doesn't look like it was made by VW? There quite a few different variants floating about, some VW and some non-VW then you've got Chinese market versions and EU versions.

    Recommend a new Head Unit

I've been investigating this myself recently. I don't like the aftermarket units so was thinking of getting a VW radio. Depending on the year of your Leon they either fit straight in or just require a fascia. RCD 510 looks like the best bet if you don't need Nav. Its got a large 6.5"...

Definitely spend the money on a proper unit. The Chinese one's may not even pick up radio properly...I had an imported US CD player about 15 years ago because it was WAY cheaper then the equivelant UK spec but it did Radio at different Mhz steps so I couldn't tune a bloody thing in, good job...
