Wind whistle and wind noise

I know this has been covered
Dealer had the ibiza yesterday and said its the passenger wing mirror and has ordered a new one making the wind noise especially the whistle at 50+ mph.
Im sure i read someone on here it was either door seals or door adjustment that made the wind noise.
Anyone know what the comon problem with wind noise is?
Its a newish dealer only been going a couple of years so maybe they have got it wrong.
Any ideas.

did you get the wind noise sorted. there have been problems with mirrors and there have been problems with door seals, theres a mod for the door seals but it doesnt seem to work

They have had to order a new one in so they said so not sorted yet i will let you know how i get on though.

Theres been quite a bit of wind noise from both doors more the passenger side i noticed when in that seat since new especially on the motorway at 70+ i remember reading this is common on here when we first got the car last year.
But in the past two months theres been a whistle from 50mph+ from the passnger side thats quite loud i just put this down to probably door seals getting worse or door fit, did not know about the mirror problem.

I have noticed terrible wind noise from my 2003 TDi sport and I mean REALLY bad it seems like its coming from the base of the screen almost like the demister vents around that area? so whats the known problems so I can go and annoy my dealer before the warranty runs out!

My ibiza has got a whole new level of wind noise, if you speed up on the motorway, the air vents speed up without touching the fan speedand then if you turn the fan speed right off it still carries on flowing thruogh at a great rate of knots. wiered

Its stopped the high pitch whistle but not the increasing wind noise.

oh and it took them till TUESDAY this week to get the mirror!!!

im getting wind noise from the drivers wing mirror but then i have a crack init lol and i i think the door seal drivers side is not as good as my 1.1 fiesta lol windy as hell! its saying somethink.... im gettin my wingmirror replaced soon but what can i do about the door seal its under warranty!

I had the same problem with mine, think the seals for the wing mirrors were replaced. All fine now.

The ibiza mk4 does seem bad for wind russle noise on all models i have tried but ours also had a whistle from the passenger door that was not there when new when they changed the mirror it went.
I still think the seals on the doors are not exacly right though.

Hi all .

yep , my 55 plate cordy tdi 130 has terrible wind noise as well .
since buying the car about 7 months ago this is really the cars only problem and it is really p.ss..g me off , big time

The car has been back to the stealers and they fitted a new window seal under warranty but this didn't make any difference at all

The draught noise only happens on the drivers side , and even on a windy day when i'm not doing motorway speeds , although not as bad .

Surely there must be a solution to this ,

i get this too it really annoys me does your air stay the same heat as when you turned them off? mine does.

In my opinion the wind noise is far too loud to be caused by an outside source such as wipers , or door mirrors etc it just sounds like a window or door is open

All i hope is that somebody finds a solution soon as most of my driving is done on the motorway and this problem is really doing my head in even with the radio on

most cars ive fixed from wind noise have been from outside objects if it sound like the door is open then it is definatly got something to do with your door seal adjust the door to make seal have tighter fit or adjust door catch in this can bring seal in more to make it tighter to bodywork!

also wind noise can be caused from the wings if you take the wheel sheild out if you put your hand down toward the a pillar inside the wing normally there is a lenght of foam to stop wind noise forming check this out could be your answer!

sound like your door seal see if the seal is a snug fit and an even fit all along by slamming an a4 piece of paper in top edge of door it should be tight but not too tight to pull out and even all along if not simply adjust door or door catch
