Can anyone with the standard double din Sat-Nav unit please help me get TMC working?

I have a TMC enabled CD but when I go to the tailback function and click on 'TMC Station' it just beeps at me.

I've spoken to Seat technical and they said that later versions of Seats with the dynamic navigation system in them don't have the TMC function on them because the TMC tuner isn't fitted. They said that if my car had one it would be behind the glove box so.....

I took the glovebox out and there is a Seat Tunerbox in there fully cabled up. When I disconnect this and reset the sat nav unit, I get a completely different view when I go into the tailback facility (it removes the 'TMC Station' option). WHen I connect it back up again the TMC button comes back but when I click on it I still just get a beep.

So is this 'tunerbox' just a standard tunerbox (i.e. not TMC?) or is my unit knackered?

Anyone?

Yes I definately ordered a TMC disk and the CD box has a small TMC symbol on it. The CD itself doesn't have a TMC logo on it so maybe I've been skanked but during navigation the TMC symbol is showing on the screen toward the bottom right, there is just no antenna next to it showing that it is receiving.

I will swap back in my old disk (which definately isn't TMC) and see if there is any difference.

Right the plot thickens.......

I thought the 04/05 DX CD I have must be TMC enabled as it says TMC on the nav screen during navigation but when I put my old CD in there (definatley NOT TMC enabled) I still get the same display and the same thing happens.

This leads me to believe that I have indeed not got a TMC CD although I did definately order one, and it cost me £160. The CD box has a TMC logo on the back but the CD itself doesn't have a TMC logo on it at all.

Can someone confirm that the TMC CD has a TMC logo on the actual CD itself? A photo would be good??

Pleeeeease....

if you can't get an answer here try VW Navi.com

It's ideal for questions about you MFD. Used it quite a bit as I am just about to fit my DVD player to it.

Uncovered thatnks for your response.

Yes I found the VW-Navi very helpful and there is someone on there who had exactly the same problem as me and was told to get a TMC CD but he never posted on again to say whether it was sorted.

I'll see what happens, again if anyone can confirm whether the TMC disc has a TMC logo on the label that would be good.....

I keep meaning to try TMC on my setup - I havent got the discs yet. If you've paid £160 I would imagine this would def be the TMC disc. You also need to have a unit that says Dynamic Navigation (which I think they all are).

I remember something about Classic Fm broadcasting TMC routes???? or something like that??
