Formentor Roof Control Panel Issue

I have a fault on my roof module. Its not related to sunny hot weather, I live in Aberdeen after all! While driving the occasion fault opens the sunroof and blind a couple of inches...just enough to let the rain in and always whilst I'm driving and unable to stop. Whilst the fault is active all roof controls on that panel dont work. No fault found by the dealer and note made that I would monitor it. Its now due for it's 2 year service and has started self opening again. Anyone else had this fault and how did you get the dealer to resolve it. They ask for videos but it's happening while I'm driving and alone. After about 10 minutes the fault clears and I can manually close the sunroof again.

My Cupra Formentor roof module has been changed last week (built date of my car is May). But the issue popped up again yesterday. And this time even though i turned car off , waited for some time and started again , it didn't work.

I talked to other car owners in Turkey, there are lots of people whose roof module have been changed several times (2 times and even 3 times!). I was told by the dealer that the roof module has been modified and part level has been changed. But it looks like VW didn't permenantly solve the issue and they are lying.

Do any of you know the current and previous part numbers of roof module ?

Part number of the new roof panel they installed to my car is "5H0959561CBTJA"

My sunroof controls and light buttons stopped working this week. The black curtain is closed. I'm glad the sunroof is closed.
I found it this way when I entered the car. I didn't close the curtain... it closed itselve
If I use the buttons on my key I can open all and close everything at the same time. I will to disconnect the 12volt battery to see if that wil solve it.

Update: disconnecting the battery did the trick!

Mate this issue has nothing to do with sunlight. I have witnessed lots of cases including me didn’t happen in the sunlight. It happened in the winter under no sunlight. I think the issue is related to a design failure or production fault. I replaced mine once and the new part repeated the same issue as well one week later . I ve been still waiting for new replecament part for almost 2 months. The turkish dealer told me that vag group is changing the manufacturer of this part. Apparently they couldn’t find a robust solution and therefore vag group punished the manufacturer. so as soon as the new manufacturer is onboard, we will get the fixed parts.

HI i have a 2023 plate formentor,i had the sunroof open today,as the sun is out 23 degrees ,and i could not get the control to close the sunroof i read the above posts and used the press the lock key down for a long press this closed the roof for me .question is it the control part that needs replaced,or the heat ?

Mine is randomly turning the interior lights on and then you can't switch unless you open the door, they are putting a new module in so I hope it is sorted

2023 Leon ST FR. Roof Centre console soft touch buttons are not working . Thankfully it’s still under warranty .

For sure it is replaced under warranty. There is a quick fix solution released to Dealers by VW . If any button of the roof control panel doesn’t work and/or lamp turns on and off randomly without touching they have to replace the roof control module. The new control module produced by the new supplier have been implemented together with Facelift. As this part is interchangeable between pre-facelift and facelift , dealers are replacing with the new level of the part for old cars as well.

Which service offered you a direct replacement? The ones I went to said that they needed to diagnose the problem and kept my vehicle in the service for a long time, then returned the vehicle saying that they solved the problem without making a replacement. They insist on not changing the panel.
