Hi all,

Just starting a post to document the cars journey from factory standard to wherever it gets to...

(due to forum rules I won't be posting any "how I did this" information as that may reveal my occupation)

Bought from a Seat main dealer in Bristol, I bought it without seeing any pics until a day before I was due to go and collect, thankfully lady luck was on my side and she was a beaut!

I didn't actually plan to buy a Leon let alone a Cupra so I wasn't sure on the plans but quickly started to form a plan.

Dash Cam install was a must so tackled that first... Thinkware T700 4G camera F&R

So the latest stuff to happen... Not much really.

I wanted to get a baseline readout of the car as it is power wise before adding too many engine/performance mods so I can see how each mod impacts the car.

Yeah I know, having the car mapped will yield more from the changes but it's good to know where you start from.

13bhp and 48ft/lb above factory specs... I'll take that!

If I get that from a simple open air intake, turbo muffler delete and running it on Super Unleaded then that's a great result and a good starting point.

Well, bit of a gap between posts but life does get in the way sometimes!

The parts rack is looking a little full so may need to fit some of it to make room for more!

Eibach Sportline springs

Sachs Race Engineering clutch kit plus new DMF

FL LED tail lights

Jack point covers

Front and rear mudflaps

Replacement MIB unit (for reasons)

ACC Radar (for the future)

DRL LED module as part of my yellow DRL fix

Climair rear wind deflectors

..... So a couple of things to fit!

Now that the life things are settled and garage upgrades are 2/3 done, can turn some attention back to the car!

I'm glad I don't have ACC 😅
My wife has ACC in her Kia Niro and I absolutely HATE it... I'm also too glad I don't have it in my Leon...
I just want to set CC, and then I want to decide whether to slow down or overtake someone with the same set CC speed... the stupid ACC slows down harsh WAY before I even think of going to overtake, because I don't want to be the guy who blocks the overtake lane by starting overtaking 500meters in advance with just a 5km/h difference... I show up in the rearview mirror, overtake and dive straight back to the secundaire lane.

Pardon my ignorance but what do the Audi A3 8V OEM jacking point covers give you,
Is it just a cover over the original jacking point and do you have to remove it or can you put the jack on to them.

Got any part numbers please, might add these to my motor.

So at factory when they're being built, MQB chassis are moved around on the automated conveyor system using locating holes underneath. Once the cars are on wheels then these holes become unused with the rears bunged up and fronts covered with plastic trim.

On Audi A3 8V, they fit these jacking point covers but not on the equivalent VW, Seat or Skoda cars... Probably a cost saving measure... So then on other brands you're limited to the pinch points on the sills.

They're a fixed item so no need to remove anything to use and they offer a less risky jacking point for garage jacks with pads. We've all seen videos of when jacking on the sill goes wrong lol!

For me, it minimises the damage to paint etc from jacking on the sills and offers a consistent jacking location.

The fronts are the same for all bodies but from looking at ETKA the rears are PR code specific to body type, mine are for PR codes K8R and K8S which includes the ST, I'll see if I can dig up the part numbers for what I believe may be the 5dr PR-K8G? - Really important to check your PR code prior to ordering the rears to ensure you get the right ones as the wrong ones are a totally different size and won't fit.

Prices omitted as they can vary wildly. I'll add extra info for anyone else looking.

As always, when parts are sided, the odd numbers are left side (NS RHD) and even are right side (OS RHD) when sitting in the car.

Credit to GolfDave on the MK7 forum for doing the ground work over on their site. He has quite a good few guides which apply to the Leon, specifically the ST as a lot of what he tested on was a MK7 Golf Estate.
