You are advised to use a full sized SD card rather than an adaptor for a MicroSD although some people break guidance on map updates of the 32gb file. Firmware is smaller. You'd probable get away with it. Suspect your PC doesn't have a full size SD why you are asking.

The firmware has proved to be reliable on installing straight onto older firmware / hardware in the past. One person did stop the process where it asked did you want to upgrade the FeC or something like that. It installs Mib Tools on that and continues running. If it ask you that question say Yes you want the whole lot. They then didn't get the long life navigation FeC since they stopped the process early. The package if left to run all the way thru gives you a complete upgrade. Basically if it deploys the FeC upgrade you get your existing FeCs plus the update extras.

If using a Mac best to obey the rules, use Keka and CleanMyDrive on the download on the card. PC just use 7zip.

Thanks for your answer!

I have a Win PC with the full size SD reader, but the only SD in my possession is 8GB (in the guide it is reported to have at least 16GB) while I have several large microSDs + adaptor.

If 8GB is enough for the firmware, I'll do that, then I'll buy a bigger SD to update the maps later.

It was 4gb for software I seem to recall but this one has the artwork (Gracenotes) update which put it up. If you plan to update the map file get a 64gb SD card.

Think you are out of luck you live in the wrong region. The mib2 high maps are split into two areas, Europe and the rest of world (ROW):

ROW
Argentina*, Australia, Bahrain, Botswana*, Brazil*, Brunei*, Chile*, Indonesia*, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lesotho*, Malaysia, Mexico*, Mozambique*, Namibia*, New Zealand, Oman, Philippines*, Qatar, Reunion*, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Swaziland*, Thailand*, Turkey*, United Arab Emirates

So Egypt is not on the list.

For reference to the thread you can install ROW maps to European cars / infotainment mib2 high units by changing the navigation FeC using the mib2 high tool kit. Australians have done this and I've assisted in the past. The FeC is in the M.I.B. documentation. It's come up on the Briskoda website. See this link for that. Where I'd got to the point of getting the person to use the tool box correctly, I'd given them the RoW FeC. They followed the @MIB-Wiki link and got it sorted. The software referenced above if used outside Europe on the mib2 high also needs the FeC changed. Question of editing it into a TXT file and stabbing the correct button on the Mib Tool app, they hadn't although I said stab it. Easy enough. Quite a few people are using these home brew enthusiast software updates on Audi, Skodas etc although you have to use the one specific to brand.

On mib3 maps, no, they are packaged for mib3. It would be good if enthusiasts also took the mib3 maps and worked away to generate mib2 high maps. A few years left to see the official updates of those. Then a software solution to generate these would be good. Way beyond my programming experience now 🤔.

Probably for your purpose an offline map using Android Auto may be better. As well as Google, other mapping companies have them that you can configure to Android Auto, never tried them thou.

hope that developers can help and update the maps.

Hi,

I started this update this afternoon from mhi2_er_seg11_s2105 (0319).

During installation, only Gracenote update failed. 20 minutes later, mhi2 reboot and Seat Xperience logo appears on screen.

But 2 hours later... No changes, always Seat Xperience logo 😱

Should I wait ? Turn key ? Cry ?

Regards

Edit: I turned the key (without start the engine) but still the same 😬

Is the installed version changed to 1447 ?. If so it's the screen logos you change but I won't point you in that direction till checked.
This screen appears after 1 reboot and nothing more... The installation is not complete I think...

Should I push navi on/off button ?

I bought the car yesterday 😅

Edit: if I turn the key without start the engine, nothing change... I don't remove the key

Edit 2: if I push navi on/off button, nothing change 🙄

Edit 3: 5 hours now on this screen 😕

It's working 😅😅😅

I just removed radio fuse, wait 15s and put it.

The installation has continued and I fix B201A fault code...

I just wait 6 hours like that 😱

Yes, only Gracenote is NOK, can I install it separately ? I found Gracenote directory on mibsolution (in MQB_solution).

Hi,

A specific question for @Tell and @MIB-Wiki, and of course all others who have experience & knowledge on the subject.

Recently, I have replaced my original MIB2 Std Preh unit with a MIB2 High Harman unit.
This infotainment unit is a relatively older one, with a hardware ID of H41, production date 2015.

The unit is already patched I guess, because all features are available.
Sport HMI, Full Link, WLAN and navigation are all working.
Later I updated the navigation with the latest 2023/2024 version of the maps I downloaded from SEAT's official download page, without any problem.
But I don't know how it was patched, if there are more than one method of course.

Now I'd like to update to 1447 using this AIO package.
Is it a concern that the unit is already patched or does this update work the same on any unit, patched or not?
Would I lose my navigation & RSDB updates and if I do, would I be able to update it again with the latest version, as I did before?

Thanks in advance & best regards.

We haven't seen mib wiki recently. In previous conversations generally they take the update on previously patched units. Its just the FeCs that feature on the patch plus the new software. On the main firmware thread you will find good experiences with the original mib2 highs with the 1447 aio software. Going backwards:

April / May 2022 moving forward check above for experience with AIO. 1447AIO is user enthusiast crafted software that updates the support files beyond the final release of 1447. So you do get updates to recent logos, gracenotes etc.

Check also the mibsolution.one has anything later than this release on this thread. guest, guest

@jpmedia is the other experts. Not seen recently thou.

Basically it updates all the stuff.

You will need to reload the maps. The latest is 350 beyond what Seat will be showing:

Thank you very much for the pointers.
I'll be working on this update tomorrow morning first thing.

On the thread where I said have a look at April / May 2022 for older units it starts at:

@mykro and on .... whenever you see Chillout he's the expert. Its his original software they are using as I understand it from a fork in the development on his mib tools...

Thanks again, I know Chillout and his expertise from our past dialog on something else, software related of course.
It could prove useful to talk to him before doing anything but I already did the upgrade at an early hour this morning.

An error has occurred after the first part of the upgrade is completed and unit restarted.
It was saying "unable to read metafile, error 8, detail 0" or something along those lines.
The options were retry and cancel, I chose retry several times to no avail and had to choose cancel ultimately.
But the process continued, completing some progress bars, and restarting several times.

It also showed a dialog where it said "Start diagnostic tester: main unit/version comparison".
There was no option to start anything, just cancel button on top right.
I waited for a long time thinking it might be started already and doing something in the background.
But in the end I had to hit cancel there too.

This whole thing repeated several times and I felt it was doing the same thing again and again.
At some point, in one of the reboots I unplugged the USB stick containing the update, thinking that I might bricked the unit or something.
Then the unit booted to main menu, I checked everything and it seemed completely normal.
I checked the version and it shows 1447 so it seems that the update was completed.

After some progress bars completed, there is a screen where it shows a list of components with results (OK) at the right.
It was showing OK only for one of those components.
The name of that component was "RCC" I guess,
I couldn't think about taking a photo of it at the moment, probably due to my frustration.
All the other components had a"-" (dash) sign at the status column.

Later I thought that maybe all other components were up to date and it only updated RCC (whatever it is) with the newer version.
The existing firmware was P4708_MU1409, the previous one before the P4709_MU1447 I was trying to update to.
So my thinking seems to make sense, I guess.
But there's an alternate scenario of course:
It might be updated one or more components just enough to show version 1447, but it couldn't touch the others due to abovementioned errors.

I'd welcome thoughts about this part.

Now everything seems to be working fine but I'm not sure that if I got a tainted update and whether it'd affect anything.
