When did you order, when is it arriving?

Contacted Cupra last week to see if they have an update on the est. delivery date. Hybrid 245hp / full option / magnetic tech matt.

I ordered in March this year. Expected build week is 45. Delivery is 51 (delay of 6 weeks compared to earlier communicated dates). That would be a 9,5 month wait. Not as bad as other people on this forum with hybrids (still insane).

Besides the raw materials / component shortage and the war, does anyone know if delays are also based on the country where the order has been placed?

I asked the Cupra specialist in my country if he noticed any major delays / delivery time (18+ months) on other Formentor orders in The Netherlands and that was not the case. He expects week 51 to be reasonable, given the current situation.

Of course, sure. That was a concern to me as buying from a dealer you expect them to make sure everything is ok whereas with Motorfinity I believe it does have a pre delivery check but it won’t be a local dealer to me and they deliver the car to my address on a trailer. It does have the usual manufacturer warranty so a dealer should honour it. I’ve had warranty work done on my Leon at a different dealer than I bought it from.

I have now heard from my dealer that the car is built and awaitimg transport to UK. Likely delivery end of September / beginning of October. The long wait is nearly over! Added to spreadsheet.

I had a Formentor on order since Nov 21 but with no build week after 11 months and No forecast. My dealer suggested I test drive a Born V3 58 KwH as they had a cancelled order in stock. Test drove it and loved it
Picking it up on Thursday 29th. Can't wait it looks stunning and is a great drive. The money I will save makes it a no brainer.

Wish you luck for all those waiting for a Formentor Hybrid.

could you let me know how it goes with the car being delivered by them. as i'm very sceptic as i used past dealerships when buying new cars so hopefully when this does come December as estimated delivery that it'll look very brand new however i have been told by them any problems i'm able to take to my local cupra dealership

Hi Rodders I had my car Formentor delivered on Friday and it all went fine. Had a phone call the day before to advise what time it would be delivered. Car had been prepped and was delivered on a trailer. Guy who delivered it was brilliant. very happy with the car.

Sadly we have cancelled our order.

We had a VZ2 Hybrid in Magnetic Tech on order since October 2021.

Had been told so many different dates and excuses, and been put out significantly by the delays with having to make costly contingency arrangements.

Going past the full 12 month mark was our red line, with still no end in sight or confirmed date, plus the rumours of all the hybrids being constantly pushed down the pecking order, the prioritisation of the Australian brand launch etc. Just really lost faith in the brand, sadly.

I won't rule them out in future as I do like the styling and dynamism but I think VAG really messed things up for a new brand trying to find its feet during difficult times.

Have switched to a Hyundai Tucson N-Line S 230 hybrid. Not quite the same thing, and not a plug in, but similarly specced and still smart looking (plus a Pano roof, more space and a better stereo). It will do us for the 3 year lease after which we intend to go full EV and will reassess what Cupra are doing then.

Hello and welcome. I've got a VZ2 on order over here in GB. I asked what the current leads times were and the dealer told me that "The average lead time for these models are currently Q2 2023". I've been waiting 15 months and counting. Good luck.

I ordered Hybrid in Nov 21 and when I called in October 22 the dealer could not give me build date. The dealer suggested a BORN, took a test drive and now have a gorgeous V3 BORN sat on my drive. In two weeks I have saved £70 plus on petrol and no road tax.
