Car confirmed for delivery to me on the 8th, great. I asked about trailer delivery and was quoted £350 plus vat to Glasgow so then asked about collecting in person and was told that wasn't possible as it was a compound it was coming from, what about if I collected the car from the driver local to the depot and was told that it would need to be e registered address, not a car park or such like.

First time I've leased and to be honest its been a carry on between the stacks of documents to be completed, lack of information from the lease company and now the delivery.

Hope the cars worth it.

I wouldn’t expect retail service if you are obtaining a vehicle on contract hire. All the information is usually clearly advertised. There’s normally very little margin in the deals hence the cheap price. If you want a showroom experience then the more expensive route might be better suited for you. I’m sure the car will be worth it

That sounds like a lot for trailer delivery, i have been quoted £98+VAT , but saying that youre in Glasgow so potentially a lot further than i am from the supplying dealer

I’ve seen lot of people concerned about it being driven rather than trailered and can’t understand the issue. Ok fair enough if you’ve bought it and plan to keep if for 10 years but a good 90% are leased on 2 year deals. You inspect the car prior to delivery as well, same as would do if you pick the car up from the dealer.

Sounds like your expectations are a bit above and beyond imo. If you want that experience go buy the car direct from the dealer and pay a few thousand extra for the privilege.

When you lease in Sweden you get the same treatment like when you buy a car :) And you can only lease from dealers that sell that brand,

Above and beyond?
I only wanted to be kept in the loop regarding delivery so I could plan a day off in advance instead of being given 9 days notice and only because I chased them up.. first of all it was the 1st of March, they then changed it to the 4th before today confirming the 8th. As for delivery, the charge for trailer delivery is expensive not to mention it would push delivery back 2 weeks, I could get it delivered for £270 plus vat but that wasn’t acceptable, neither was collection either at the “depot” or somewhere local, so it was accept it driven or pay up for an expensive delivery and wait a further 2 weeks.

Yes, expectations above and behond, they’re really doing me a massive favour!

Tbh 9 days notice is fair. But I of course do not know your background/work situation.

I knew when I ordered a lease to check and double check what I was told and do as much digging as possible. I questioned delivery etc and was told over 200+ miles they would trailer it, if not normally an old chap delivers it. I could pay for a trailer but as you said, was expensive.

I think in cases such as lease you have to make sure you know the T&C’s inside out, even more so if through a broker!

I expect the car to have miles on delivery, I don’t own it so my expectations are “because lease car”..

Good luck with sorting yours out though, I’d be more frustrated being told it was delayed

When you lease direct with the dealer in the UK its the same. No hassle, kept informed didn't sign anything till pick up day and didn't have anything come out of my bank for weeks after I drove it away.

Who are people using for gap insurance at the moment please? Any good deals currently? Cheers

Previously I’ve used ALA Gap insurance. With MSE25 taking off an amount. Think without deposit protection, 2 years was roughly £99?

Not happily had to use it so can’t comment on service!

I'm going direct and not paying thousands more for leasing in fact bet its less then what some people are paying with a third party
