Yeah first ever lease but all has been very good so far.

Got my first update a few days ago, exactly a week after order

Hi Ben

Just to let you know your order is all accepted by the factory and we are just currently awaiting build dates to come over from the dealership - once these start coming through we will be in touch to update you on the ETA.

Documents will be issued once we are advised of the registration number around a couple of weeks before it arrives into stock.

Kindest regards

It’s easy for everything to be going well at this stage though...!

I’m unsure what I think of this or weather I should take it somewhere to get it painted professionaly. I’ve played around with several looks including vehicle wrap but this looks the better option so far. The good thing is I can peel the coating off & get it painted.
Quite like that. What coating is it?

That was my initial thought but they won’t even advise which dealership
If you ask them they will need to tell you to abide by GDPR regulations. As they've passed on personal information to the dealer, you're entitled to know who that data has been passed onto.

Possibly not true the dealer doesn't need to know who the end customer is. The car is owned and registered to the lease company.

Thanks, I used Perfornix Plasti Dip, Smoke. I’m not putting the 290 badge on. Just as well because I accidentally snapped it

They will be providing a name and address for delivery at least which I'm pretty sure comes under GDPR.

Gateway2Lease sent it to me straight away to tell me which companies are handling my data.

Good point lol, they do need to know who to deliver it to.

Planning on ordering this week from Leasing Options have a few question to ask over the phone which includes wanting to collect from the dealership.

If they insist on no collection then I'll stand down the road 500 yards away to take delivery.

Got mine from them and have arranged to collect, it must depend on the dealership.

Just got the initial terms through and she said I can collect so will hold her to that. Somewhere in Yorkshire apparently.

If it's with leasing options could be DM Keith in York. They also told me I could pick up when I asked but they did say not much difference in time as dealer's want to get rid of the car off the forecourt as quick as they can

DM does ring a bell but she said it would be a factory order so 10-12 weeks so no quick sell.

The independent leasing companies maybe have an agreement with the dealers they buy through that the dealer has no interaction with the customer. That's maybe why they are refusing people the chance to collect, incase they have any niggling problems when collecting.

The leasing companies will be getting that much of a discount the supplying dealer won't want someone else's customers potential issues.

I wanted to collect mine from JCT600 in Bradford but speaking with the dealership direct they said they wasn’t insured.

There just a office that deal with business leasing so basically it’s just a office with no showroom. My car actually came from a compound located around Leeds area.

My car was delivered 70 miles to my home address in prestige condition, plastic seat cover, paper mats and showing double MPG digits haha.

My updates have now been cut from 2 weeks to 1 from Gateway2Lease as it's getting closer to the delivery date. Still being advised 25/02 but not taking delivery until 25/03.

My BW5 is still in transport to the port...same as last week...

Need to start getting my car ready to sell, the fun part of having an uninsured car and people wanting test drives...

Just got my letter from seat with my options for my current car, i can pay off £7.7k and looking online the most similar cars are approx £13-14k, seems a tad wide of the mark, might just bung it to WBAC and pocket the difference, even if they low ball me it still makes sense no??

Feels like I am the only one gone directly through Seat and not a lease company
I went through Seat and it was totally painless until 3 days after I signed for the car and Seat Finance 'deactivated' my contract...and told nobody they'd done it! It's only because I didn't notice any money come from my account in mid-Nov 2018 that I alerted Lookers and VWFS to it. VWFS could do nothing as my reg didn't exist in their system so couldn't help in the slightest. Lookers couldn't do anything as VWFS wouldn't reactivate my account without resigning new paperwork. Lookers couldn't generate new paper work until VWFS unlocked my account...and so the vicious circle started again. Lookers had to get seniors at Seat UK to intervene (which helped) but now VWFS want all their money in one huge lumpsum for 4/5 months plus the initial rental. Do you think I can make anyone see sense with this? Can I f**k. Through no fault of my own or Lookers, VWFS have buggered things royally and can't see that they've done anything wrong...
