Sad to say after nearly a month of moving on from the 280 I agree with this...

The standard continental tyres really ruined the car. The new Michelin PS4S made a massive improvement, but apart from the initial 0-60 I would still say my 280 on the Michelin PIlot Super Sports would of out dragged the carbon in all situations apart from a standing start, it would of out cornered it too.

Working on a few things to improve the front end a little more first as it’s 95% there with the tyres, but with the 4WD it can comfortably take more power. So I suspect I’ll be going down the 370 ABT route.

However short of an LSD being fitted, the media in all its reports are right. Of the new 300, the FWD DSG is the car to have over the 4Drive, but of course the UK doesn’t get it.

Still a very nice car though, as always its the SPEC Guys at Seat UK who need to read these threads.

Good thing is there is plenty of kit out there to help with both power and suspension look forward to the build thread

Oh I wouldn’t swap back (even if I could )! Too many bits that are better.

I think the strut brace I’ve ordered and 370hp will make up the difference. If not, camber plates lol

They don’t currently have an upgrade for the post WLTP/GPF Cupra yet, but was wondering what the cost is likely to be?

Yeah but for that price you don’t just get a standard remap for the car though do you, there’s new alloys maybe something to do with the exhaust,and some kind of extra trims and spoilers to go somewhere maybe.....correct me if I’m wrong but most Abt conversions I’ve seen don’t just have more power!

I that’s £1995 for just the box that takes it 370.

But it gets a 2 year 50,000 mile warranty (non Seat in the UK though so has to be claimed through a third party) it can be taken off and refitted much like the the other plug in boxes.

Doesn’t flag the TB1.

Also free software upgrades of other ABT bits are fitted (downpipe and intakes will take it closer to 400 then it needs an intercooler to get to 430).

So it’s a lot of money, but more piece of mind.

Not got my Carbon yet,dealer will not release until some time in December...

Anyway,looking to get some accessories including a total coverage boot liner (tailored for the car)... dog carrying for the use of!

The company I am looking at do two versions,one for high floor position the other for low.

So,not having a car to look at I don't know which is best.

Which floor position do we think is the one to go for...bearing in mind I will probably get the spare wheel kit for underneath?

I have recently installed a full coverage low floor bootliner from hatchbag. It fits the ST perfectly and seems really good quality. I also got a bootliner extender, tailgate cover and split seats- every inch of the boot is covered. You can also get 10% of using code VWT10

The dealer is sticking to the three months,they say SEAT would fine them if they released the car early.
Doesn't make a lot of sense to me,but I can't do anything.
Can't go over between Xmas and the new year so Jan 3 should be the pick up day.

I suppose as yours is going to have less miles on than mine did, it’s no bad thing.

SEAT won't (actually can't) but they are breaking the law if they sell a demonstrator/pre-registered car early.

Amongst other things, the Supply of New Cars Order 2000 means that any support paid to retailers on vehicles registered to them can be clawed back if they then sell the vehicle before it is 90 days old.

Hopefully it now makes sense to you?

I paid a deposit and the car is just being stored (out of the showroom so I'm told) with no mileage being put on it,in other words laying dormant for 3 months,I can't see how this benefits anyone.
...and this at a time when there are lengthy waiting times for factory orders,as you know.

Yeah, mine wasn’t being used as a dealer demo either, but almost like a run around for a member of staff. Was supposed to wait till December but then suddenly they wanted it gone by the end of October.

Age and use are not the same thing though, are they?

The rules state cars must be retained for 90 days - there is no stipulation that they have to be used.

Some retailers choose to take the risk and release cars early, some don't. The reality is they are unlikely to be penalised, but they might, and some (most) aren't prepared to.

Still needs cleaning and the light doesn’t show the stripes very well. The silver on the stripes is in fact the same Matt silver as the intakes.

Will get a proper wash and take some photos in better light too...
