How noticeable was the wheel scuff they charged for? I am about to do the same thing next week and I have a fairly large scuff on a diamond cut wheel :'( I have gone on the basis the excess fee from the lease will be less than sending away for professional diamond cut repair.
I don't think it matters. Once it's over the 5cm limit it's just £36 a wheel. Seems cheaper than getting a proper repair done.

I'd definitely take that. A re-skimmed diamond cut seems to be ~£100
Definitely

For small scuffs to the rim Ive been quoted between £50-80 but have been told it won't be perfect just hardly noticeable (pass inspection)

I've been quoted £100-170 for a proper refurb and you can only re-skim a couple of times before you need a replacement wheel.

I was quoted £500 for a replacement from the dealership at one point.

£36 is an absolute bargain.

For those with OCD though alloy wheel cover may be worth a look on their shiny new cupras.

It sounds like the lease company was probably just not that well informed in the first instance. I was told (in Feb) that the delivery times were up to 20 weeks (and it's actually gone slightly over that). 20 weeks after 6th April is towards the end of August which seems more realistic.

The biggest issue with these things is setting expectations and keeping people informed. Lots of places are crap at both!

I had to tell the customer service manger about the potential engine being toned down to the 290. Her worlds " that's news to me I've got one on order myself "

Just had all four of my diamond cut and black paint polo gti wheels refurbed. £360 all in.
So £36 a wheel to not even have the hassle is a bargain.

Costs are just admin really, the wheels don't get repaired. The cars just go straight to auction as they are. Look at the charges as a fine. The majority of lease cars go back from companies so the charges can build up if they were actually realistic about the repairs

Well I think I’m bowing out. Too many unknowns at a point we need to know when things are happening (moving house) and have another car depreciating and need to sell. Found a good offer on an in stock Golf R so unfortunately I’ll never get to sample the Cupra.

What sort of deal is on the golf?

Possibly slightly off topic but related to this. The VW Golf R has just been announced that it's also being reduced by 10 bhp to 300 for this WLTP emsions thing.

This begs the question do we think Seat are just keeping the cupra it's usual 10bhp below the golf R by knocking ours down to 290???

Yeah i read this this evening too.

I originally thought the Golf R and the S3 were safe due to the 4x drive - obviously not.

The CUPRA ST is 300 bhp because of the 4x drive. So I'm not sure what's going on.

The few articles I read keep suggesting that a more restrictive exhaust system is being fitted.

Wouldn't they just be able to go back to the previous engine map as opposed to fiddling with the exhaust?

Or is this about having a GPF fitted?

And if the golf built on the same chassis with the same engine with the added weight of the 4motion equipment can satisfy 300bhp emissions, why wouldn't the lighter cupra not? I think its all to keep them on there own stature as they will all be sharing the same figures. AUDI - VW Then Seat can't have the cupra having the same power as the R.

My St 300 ordered in Jan 2018 is still awaiting build date. Was originally given provisional delivery date of July 2018. In April my order was status 10 which I think is provisional build date, for May. Now supplying dealer is saying there is no update or status applied to order and can't confirm build date. An utter shambles. I'm now trying to cancel the order and go elsewhere for an In stock car. I found a cheap deal for golf r estate which I will prob plumb for if the dealer agrees to cancel the order. I have also enquired about purchase of my current lease which was less than I was expecting so that's another option. Vwfs have advised I can extend my current lease but then I'm liable for mot,3rd Yr service and prob a new set of front boots which I dont want to fork out for.

I contacted seat financial services to see if they could help with order status. They couldn't but did advise of another spanner in the works causing additional delays "there are a lot of changes going on in the motor industry at the moment with the introduction of Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles (WLTP). This unfortunately is having a big impact on lead times that were already stretched". Does anyone know what wltp is? Is this to do with emissions I keep hearing vw are struggling with?
