Good day all! What discs and pads would people recommend for a Leon Cupra 290? I don't want to change the calipers, but uprated discs and pads would be a good idea now I have a lot more power :)

http://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/seat/leon-2013/leon-2-0-cupra-280bhp-01-14.html I've heard good reviews of these mtec discs over on the mk7 golf R forum. Reasonably priced too. There's also a 10% discount code on the homepage. I'll be going for the C hook version when mine are due. Probably with tarox strada pads. Also worth paying the £14 extra for the protective coating they offer to prevent the hub centre's and disc edges from rusting (available in silver, gold and black)

Tarox

Tarox.
I highly recommend these set of rotors and brake pads.

i Run them on my 280 cupra and i'm very satisfied with the feel, brake power etc.
F2000 discs and corsa brake pads, or you can try the strada brake pads if you are going to track days.

Yes can't go wrong with tarox. However pad description is the other way round. Strada are fast road and Corsa are more a track day pad (not trying to sound like a smart arse)

I'd go for Golf Clubsport S discs and Pagid RS29 Yellows if you want great stopping power with std calipers.

Swap out the front lines for braided hoses and good quality fluid at the same time

I just put Tarox Strada pads on the front and changed the brake fluid, all good for me on track. I put vids up from Rockingham if you want to see how I drive...

I had oil temp problems before brake issues. :)

Are you running the standard discs with the Tarox pads?

Had mtec's on my last car (fabia vrs) and no problem. I went with oem discs & ebc redstuff pads this time, really rate the ebcs. Going clubsport discs next time, and redstuffs again for sure.

I take back my comments about Tarox Strada pads, sorry. Although they were fine at Rockingham and looked like they had plenty of pad left, they quite literally disintegrated within 8 laps at Oulton today, ended up down to the metal and pretty much on fire I had to fag across to Wrexham, get some DS2500s and fit them before carrying on with the trackday. Bedded the DS2500s in on track and they seemed good considering...

Haha wow! Well I don’t have any experience of track days at all, though would love to do it at some point!

I’ve not bought any pads or discs yet, but did have the Stradas on my list.
