Its not the best sound to be honest but I wouldn't say its like an exhaust you get on a 1.2 corsa,

I don't drive it like a tool anyway so it doesn't do the "fart" in places that people would walking right next to me.

I didn't get the DSG or the Cupra for the noise, I just like the Seat brand to be honest and the Cupra looks good, its the missus that uses it 95% of the time and it will be in comfort mode so not going to farting many places.

It's exactly like that, to me. The BRRRP sounds like a small engined car being revved off it's tits at a traffic light. Then it goes back to the nice low rasp of the cupra normal exhaust.

99% of people with a DSG are like you. But there are people that drive DSG's to get the maximum fart noise permanently. It's like people revving in neutral - 'hey look at me.' That said, the manual has negatives. But let's not turn it into a DSG vs. manual thread. There's plenty already.

One noise I was hoping to hear more of/louder is the turbo spinning up.

This is my 3rd vag turbo car and they've all been quiet to be honest, I think if you mod the breathing bits it helps, it did on my LCR

Might just be that the last petrol turbo car i had the turbo was 6" behind my head.

Turbo diseasel cars I've had have either been dead quiet or quite loud turbo whistle. Guess which was the Toyota and Fiat.

Just a thought on the popping and burbling on the overrun the exhaust needs a layer of coke inside before it starts getting vocal. That takes a few hundred miles maybe over 1000.

I've heard people say you can't hear it inside the cabin and others say after 1000 miles their manual started to burble.

Had my manual and I would say after a 1000 miles .
I actually thought I had the 280 exaust on mine and mentioned to the dealer

**CVL customers - Update from DM Keith (Leeds)**

Charlotte from DM Keith in York (where our cars are) has said that all instructions for our cars comes from DM Keith in Leeds (Corporate Fleet Dept. - Gary is CVL's account contact).
Gary has now told me that they have taken the excess mileage issue up with Seat UK in Milton Keynes who have retrospectively applied the new charges to the contracts signed at the 'old' 6p ex.VAT rate. They have yet to come back to Gary with an answer, but he is chasing them. As soon as this is resolved then new paperwork can be generated and sent out via CVL - we may have to chase them for this though!

That would stress me right out knowing my car was there and it's just a paperwork issue keeping me from getting it, I'd have just paid the extra haha

I took delivery of the car on Thursday. I do hope that it grows on me, as I'm quite disappointed with it.

My confirmed BW was this week (42) but after phoning SEAT CS about the Dynamic Grey situation, they now tell me that me it's 44! :wtf:

Manual - ice silver - black - 5D

I think I just need to grow into it. I guess I've just not 'bonded' with the car yet. I can't help think that it's a diesel. The feel of it, the sound of it.

That has got to be one the most ridiculous things I've heard.

And I read pistonheads.

That's just it though, you've not heard it. Something just doesn't feel or sound right with the car. I'm taking it to local dealer on Monday, firstly to point out build issues, and to have them have a look into my findings. Hopefully I can upload images soon. They may end up being the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen.....on a new car.

Thanks for the reply, chum.
