Hi,
I am wondering if anybody has got the 1.4tsi (140) remapped by superchips.
they seem to be the only one who have a map out for this engine and there figures are quiet impressive 38bhp and 65nm of gains.
I haven't really heard of them so any info on the company would be good also.

Superchips have been going for ages mate so no worries there. Your only worry is warranty, unless it's a removable device it will flag up on the dealers computer the next time you take it for a service or repair.

Remus do an external one that plugs in, not sure on the gains though

I am waiting for some feedback before I try this. At least the remaps are out there now. Anybody know of any reviews of this remap?

did you go for the superchips map ? I'm interested as I have the same car and I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

I had a superchips remap on my old car (Fiesta TDCi) and it totally transformed it, so I would definitely recommend them.

I'll be looking to get it done in the near future, and hopefully bluefin may be available when I want to go ahead.

No I haven't done it yet, will be sorting it out at the end of august. The only other option is the dtuk tuning box but it doesn't look to boost the power and torque as much. I also contacted Revo who said they have no planes to release a map for this engine any time soon. So it looks like superchips is the only one out there. they also offer 1 yr warranty so seems a safe, bet will update as soon as I book it in.
Thanks for the help

That's funny I contacted revo myself to a week or two ago, and this was their reply:

"We have a new 1.4TSi on the fleet currently and have started the development process.

Please keep an eye on the Revo Facebook page or Website for updates.

As you may already be aware, the Revo development and testing process is far more in depth than any other software developer that we are aware of, therefore it may be several months before the software is released following testing around the world for differing climates, fuel qualities etc."

I'm looking to get mine remapped in the next few months so am in the same boat as you..

"We haven’t done the development for the 1.4TSi, as it uses a completely different ECU type to other V.A.G vehicles.
It may be something we look at in the future, but not a priority currently.

Sorry we cannot help. "
That was the reply they gave me, but that was a couple of months ago.
If they are in development of it I may just hold out for the revo map.

I have the 150 ps ibiza. Was 148bhp standard. It's now 221bhp at stage 2. Using revo.
Use the revo technik site? That's how I wound up with mine, plus was the only garage to efficiently return my call
Did a great job too. This was at clive atthowe auto diagnostics in Norfolk.
1.4 ibiza fr tsi dsg.

I think not many people are aware of the ACT engine features, its still new to mass market.
Having a camshaft that changes profile has been around for a little while, but using it to drop out the center two cylinders is a very new thing.
The problem with trying to Map ACT engines is you are fighting what it is about. You are saying "I want the economy of this fuel efficiency feature... but i want a 20+ hp gain" I have seen in some instances people get better 'daily drive' fuel econ out of a good quality adaptive mapping (i think it was a Revo) as well as significant gains when the engine was pushed; but those engines didn't have the ACT fuel economy feature.
The point i'm trying to make is, the ACT kicks in when you are driving economically anyway, so mapping for gains in power and performance means you will spend less time using the ACT feature of the engine, and more time on all 4's.
Likewise if you map for fuel econ, be careful you don't put the engine under too much stress when it goes into ACT mode. Even when up to temp and the lube's flowing slick in the engine, moving the crank shaft around on two cylinders when its attached to another two 'dead' ones is extra load.

All that said, im interested in What Revo can produce for the ACT, can they maintain the functionality? Will they improve fuel econ? I don't think there is any doubt you will see mad hp gains when its running on all 4 pots, its a perky little beast...

Yeah that's what concerns me, I wouldn't want the act technology to be affected at all with a remap. I'm happy to use more fuel when I'm flooring it, but when just cruising I still want to be able to achieve good miles per gallon

So has anybody got theirs remapped yet then? still haven't seen anything from REVO yet so it could possibly be the superchips map for me. I have seen the people in turkey have got 180bhp and 310nm out of it with a remap and induction kit. which seems on par with superchips

I went for a dtuk box on mine, think it claims 160hp and 300nm iirc. I love it works great no error messages or anything even when turned on the highest setting, and no impact on mpg while being calculated at the pump, seems a win win for me.

The car has also been in for warranty work and it must leave no trace or anything as they haven't mentioned it

Sounds good mate, shame there wasn't a little more power really especially as they come with 150 bhp now from stock.

What did it set you back mate? I'm thinking this will be what i'll buy if anything.

I know I wish it had a little more, but it honestly is a good improvement in every gear, I can't floor it in second gear without the traction control light flashing! Haha

It cost me £400, I think it's advertised as 500 but I went up to their unit and they offered 400 so I took it, I've been there a few times to have it taken off and they are very helpful, no charge for doing it either

Still only 140BHP for the ACT engine. because it lacks the supercharger like the non-ACT'd 1.4 that and its tuned for economy.
