I'm pretty sure you could get the dealer to make vcds changes to the car. Many of them will be to adjust for different market expectations if default operation.
Andrew what's the difference between cupra and extra strong? I'm assuming it would be for Scandinavian countries with lots of slippy stuff? Probably wears the diff out faster if used on dry tarmac all the time?

The bottom position on the gear stick is D/S, when in D just pull back and presto you are now in S, do it again and back to D, so you can toggle back and forth in an instant. So you just leave the car in Sport or Cupra and when you want to go full beans, just toggle.:D:D:D

Don't worry Stever750, it took me a week or so after I got mine to discover that little D/S toggle via the gear selector feature, and its completely changed the way I drive it. It's in D 95% of the time, and when I want to over-take or a little red mist appears, a quick flick down and I'm gone.

I'd still like to know what the difference is with the engine between Cupra & Normal engine modes. I can hear the symposer thing in Cupra mode, which, now that I know is completely fake, has lost it's appeal (I thought it was just partially generated). But, is there any difference in performance or sound (from out-side of the car) between normal & Cupra modes? I have tried testing myself with the window open to see if I can hear a difference, but with the symposer humming away, its hard to tell. As mentioned before in this thread, there does not seem to be any documentation explaining the differences...which is frustrating!

Nah nothing you chance in VCDS will because they are stuff that can be set by factory.
If , via vcds , you set the difference to 'strong' , does that mean it's set at that for all profiles and can then only be altered via vcds , or is it still switchable ?

I use D when auto which I'll use for cold engine, or slow stop start traffic around town. Everything else I flick to the left and use the paddles. I never use S mode.
