Interesting reading there Bill
The Revo stage 2+ boys lower than your stage 2 by a big margin , did you fiddle the run just for you lol
The APR stage 2+ maps seem to be consistent.
Lol.. no fiddling.. Its very consistent when it gets chucked on the dyno.
Power vs boost vs heat output and subsequent torque is whats going on
Mines a stage 2 revo.. not a + and not on max settings either as that hurts peak power.
You can have too much boost and just because you can dial a REVO up to 9 does not make it the best setting
Too much boost = too much heat, and rejected ign timing from excessive cyl temps, which hurts top end power. The TFSi react exactly as I see the 1.8t's I tune more of... Treat them "right" and they reward.. Shove it up em and they push back at you..
APR cars, on assorted versions of code I dont pretend to know, did vary between the APR cars. Some obvious map sensor scaling changes between a couple of the apr cars which ran.
In general terms APR have more torque as they run more mid range boost, but the std hardware turbo/actuator wise will result in everyone maxing out their turbos at the same point duty cycle wise. On std actuator it can only do what it can do, and all the softwares apart from one mutant revo one were max'd >5500rpm in terms of n75% and resultant boost. The plot on cheungys shows that very well boost plot wise.
Less torque from the revo's on avg but they held a little more power top end.
Different approaches by the respective tuners..
ALL of them surge like a mofo however.. Seems its a 2283 comp wheel thing as we get the same on k04-02x hybrids
Can someone confirm what version of APRs are on the respective cars to annotate the results more accurately? I dont remember what was what.
