Still no arrival of baby Parkin… So, with the sun out today I was able to get a few hours on the car. I started by finishing off the Inlet Manifold by fitting the new Injector seats using a 19mm Hex Key, Injectors, the engine cover mount and giving it a final mop. With it looking pretty good, I spent some time on the Fuel Injector Rail, by removing all the plastic cowling, polishing the rail and fitting the cleaned FPR. With that all done, I painted the cylinder head part of the block, cleaned underneath and gave some time to the alternator. I was going to paint it, however I tried to wire brush it and it came up really well. With new gaskets for the Phenolic Gasket, the Inlet Manifold was fitted.
I then re-routed the wiring for the Injectors. All nuts, bolts and clamps have been replaced with SS items where possible.
Here’s how I left the car as it was getting pretty chilly with the sun having gone in: Throttle Body with new Gasket fitted.
So, it’s just a case of re-fitting the other polished items, a few new bits of silicon/clamps and the Coil Pack Harness cover (once it arrives), clean out the Catch Can and replace the y-piece linking the Rocker and then giving the bay a good scrub. I want to get the Strut Brace Powder Coated/painted so I’ll remove that when I can get to the nuts on the underside of the struts. I think I’m going to spray the slam panel as well, as there are couple of marks and it lets it down. Just trying to source a bargain priced compressor so that I can get in to the world of 2K paint
Progress might be slow in the weeks ahead but I’m relieved that the car is more together now. Hopefully it'll run...
