Few little updates :
Fitted the mk6 golf gti metal pedals, along with an ebay foot rest. It really brightens up the interior! ( need to give it a good hoover too)

I also cracked out the gloss vinyl when i was bored and vinyled the plastic door card strips.

I then fitted the chunky leather hand brake cover, it just slips on over the top of the old one. It looks and feels absolute quality, and once again lifts the "cheapness" of the interior.

And while I had the vinyle out, i decided to do the front lip on the bumper. It makes the front end look a lot more aggressive, the pictures dont really do it any justice!

Whats step did you follow for painting the front lip? Did you paint straight over the white or did you sand down, prime, basecoat and then laquer?

As Damo mentioned, I used vinyl mate, its worth having a go yourself even if you havn't done anything like this before as its very cheap. You can always get a pro to do it if you can't manage it

Well yesterday I picked up a new Neuspeed induction kit and a Audi R8 oil cap

So basically over £200 on things I don't even need because I already have an induction kit. However I have heard good things about the neuspeed for the 2.0 TSI and it looks god damn good finished in red. It replaces my cheapo TX autosport one anyway which is pretty crap quality. Oh and £30 for an oil cap is ridiculously expensive but that also looks cool
I also got my hands on some HB4 LED fog light bulbs and managed to sort out my bonnet lifter with a weaker gas strut. Here are a few pics...

My girlfriend has also bought me some new wheels for christmas too, I gave her a list of 4 potential ones I liked, and asked her to get me one of them and not tell me... so now for the long wait to see whcih ones she chose

Hopefully it won't rain tomorrow so I will be able to get it all fitted and take some pics, fingers crossed !

As you can see they match the 6000k hids perfectly and look pretty cool, output isnt as great as the standard ones but they are still very bright! And before anyone says it, no I dont drive around with them on, this is purely a cosmetic mod for when the fogs come on when reversing ( I have de-activated the cornering fog light function ) . The standard ones look very silly compared to the HIDs, and for those of you with the corning function this is a must do mod! ( If you have HIDs or factory Xenons )

Can you have it set without cornering lights but still have them come on in reverse?
When I disabled the cornering lights it stopped the reverse function too!

Yeah Kev, check your vagcom again you probably missed it, there is an option for " Fog lights active when reverse gear is selected " or something along the lines of that. It shouldn't make a difference that yours is manual so it should be there

Yeah I've got that and mine is ticked.
Although as soon as I disable cornering they don't come on. I'll need to double check at the weekend.

I think there are a few options concering the fogs, so it might need a certain combination, give it a go and i'm sure you will work it out

55w but be careful which ones you get, most of them throw and error on the dash. There are a number of us running the HID direct Terminator kit that works 100% but are probably more expensive than the others. There probably are other cheaper ones that work but I'm just making you aware

Yeah HID kits are ridiculously good, the 'xenon' bulbs on eBay are a bag of ****, a candle emits more light

I don't like to think of the money I have spent on it I'm also modding my daily golf gt tdi too, when I said I wouldn't!

The only thing I think can be improved now are the wheels, but my girlfriend has already bought me some for christmas and they are already in her garage sat in their boxes! I gave her a list of 4 wheels which I fancy and asked her to pick the best ones but not tell me! ( Audi A5, Lambo Gallardo reps, BBS CH, BBS CH-R ). Maybe I should sneek a look in the boxes while she is sleeping? ... Then it will be perfect in my opinion of course
