Ok so iv been on here for years and never bothered to write one of these so I thought its about time I did.
I got my first Leon, a PD140 about 4 years ago and loved it! Coming from a Mitsubushi Colt 1.3 the power was awsum and the ride was so much nicer. In the time that I had it I didnt do too much to it, just a few little tinkering bits. I blacked out the chrome grill and the S badge on the front and back, put in a piper cross panel filter and dropped it on sportlines
i had lots more plans for it but sadly fate intervened
there I was minding my own business when wham! some bloke just not paying attention, cut someone els up who swerved onto my side of the road then bang, head on, thanks alot.
So I was now in the situation of needing a new car and decided I wanted to go for another leon because I knew they could take a bit of a pounding
Done:
K&N Panel Filter
Black front and rear S badge
Black Mirror Caps
Stereo Install
Painted Callipers
Gloss Black Roof
Lower on Sportlines
Front Splitter
Added SCN Stickers
Side Stripes
Short Shifter
6k HIDs
Custom Exhaust
To do list:
Rear Anti Roll Bar
Rear Diffuser
Custom Intake
DPF delete and map
First thing was to get rid of that shiny chrome front and rear S badge and the silver wing mirrors. So i whipped them off and chucked some vinyl on them, also got a new facia arrive from Dave at SERE which meant i could fit my new Double Din Stereo
Ok so today I had the roof done I love it and the guys who did it for me were just great! I only called them for a quote last night and I asked if they could do it today and they said they would fit me in. i also asked if they could do the rear S badge as I hadn't got round to doing it and they just did it free of charge. All in all took them about an hour and 15 and was by far the cheapest quote I got. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Milton Keynes area!
Last night I de badged the back end as the letteres looked crap with the black S badge, I was thinking of painting them black and re fitting them but I think it looks nicer like this...im undecided tho
I also exchanged the numberplate bulbs for some LEDs. Looks a lot crisper and smarter

I added a couple of SCN stickers today along with painting the callipers. I hated the nasty grey/silver so decided to paint them red and make them stand out a bit.
And also a sticker for a very worthy local charity, i would ask you to please look it up
mr postman brought me a nice present today

So after speaking to kev at triple r composites regarding the front splitter for the mk2 with a BTCC kit fitted he asked me to go to his workshop so we could have a look into it. When i arrived we got straight to work, got the car inside. he drew numerous different designs on a big sheet of MDF then cut it out and shaped it. We took a mould of the bottom of the bumper so the splitter will fit snugly and i left him to complete the work.
I got the call from kev to go and have the spoiler fitted i was buzzing.
off shift today so i thought i would do a few little bits of tinkering with the car.
to start with i took the front grill off as i had originally vinyl wrapped the front S badge and i wanted to spray it to make it a bit neater. so i managed to get it all apart after a lot of nervous swearing
painted the S in super gloss black, looked really nice until i sprayed some lacquer on it then it all started to bubble and the surface became very rough. Don’t really know what happened
and thought i would spray the little prongs red to make the badge stand out a little bit so i taped it up and painted it
Then i reassembled it all and refitted it onto the car
then i thought i would go to work on the engine cover to spice up the engine bay. so i removed the centre bit and sprayed that gloss red and the surround gloss black (i no its already black but i think in gloss it will look better)
plan is to do the raised TDI lettering in white once the red has properly hardened.
i will post a picture up as soon as its all dry enough to reassemble
i managed to trash the little seat badge on the engine cover in the process of removing it tho so i need a new one, any one know how much they cost and if there is other designs and colours?
Thanks
engine cover is finished and rebuilt, only need to spray the TDI bit white now but im gonna leave that for another day

I gave the car a really good wash, polish and a wax today along with some vinyl care on the roof. I had some striped fitted a while ago by a mate of mine and forgot to mention them on here so here they are. Im still not sure on them but time will tell.
Then took her out to get some snaps as it was a nice sunny day
Had a little tinker on Gimp2 for this one (im still learning)
Look What just arrived i will be fitting it this weekend whilst my mate is putting some new Conti Sport 5s on the car
Short shifter is fitted I love it! Makes the shift an inch shorter forward and backwards, got a great feel to it and all for the low price of 35 quid
last night i fitter my nice new set of Terminator 6k HIDs they make a huge difference to how the car looks IMO and i love them!
Heres before
During (you can really see the difference here)
And after
This morning i got up bright and early and headed over to my mates workshop to get my exhaust sorted. we got it up on the ramps and had a good look over before getting to work with the WD40 to try and release the bl00dy thing haha. the objective of the day was to delete the back box and to fill out the HUGE holes in the btcc bumper which the standard Remus box doesnt do.
This is a view from the back before
Then we got it up on the ramps and got to work
Got it all tacked and then welded and trimmed off the job
Then final fitting
And back home ready for a wash!
Sounds exactly what I was after, no real difference at idle, just a bit deeper tone, and when im cruising at 70 its also nice and quiet. but when I give it some beans it makes a nice loud roar just what the doctor ordered
