2001 Cupra Mk1 Replacement Remote Key Issues

It could be, my first flip key was from a VW of some sort.

I shall open all mine remote keys up and see what frequency they're operating at just in case one is a 433.

Well I've checked he keys and the two flip keys I have are 434mhz, but I've taken the other original leon keys apart but I'm unable to find where it states the frequency!

I have the same problem, ive got a 2000 LC with one key, which the remote doesnt work. So the flip key on the ebay link WILL work definately????

Cant say for definite but the early Leons need 433mhz remotes to work, i have tried loads of the 434mhz and none will work.

Does anyone know how to decipher what frequency the original Seat remote keyfobs are? I have 3 of them and have no idea what frequency they run at as unlike the flip keys I can't find a clear identification for them.

Yes mate as i have said (a few times) its 433 mhz if they don't work they are A, dead, or B, there is a problem with the pairing procedure.

Think you might be misunderstanding me. I know I need 433mhz fobs, but I don't know whether the 2 Seat fobs I have are 433mhz or 434mhz because there's no way of checking them it seems.

I do though know the 2 flip keys I have are 434mhz.

If they are the early non flip key afaik they will be 433mhz.

To check whether it is 433 or 434, press the button to flip the key out. Then pop the screwdriver into the small slot under where the key normally sits. Separate the 2 halves.

I'm pretty sure on the back of the lower half of the bottom part (the bit with the buttons!), there is a load of text. Turn the key sideways and on one side in small lettering is 433/434.

At least on mine it did (a 434mhz).

I finally programmed mine this morn, took a couple of attempts though. Got the blade cut this afternoon, turns the ignition, but won't open the lock in the door! Need to get the transponder done now.

Finding the frequency on the flip is easy and I have done it and they're both 434. To check the frequency on an old 2 button seat remote keyfob is more difficult. 433mhz as mentioned in post's #6 and #8 you have the same age Cupra as mine and only 433mhz will work.
