Yesterday i went down to a rwyb at santa pod. I stuck my car down the strip and my quickest 1/4 mile of the day was 14.6 at 98mph. I would of liked to hit 14 dead but my reaction time was roughly 1second. Not bad for a first try i suppose.

Will upload a few pics i have later.

Cheers mate. Plans may go slower than expected now as i am in the process of buying a house.

Would like front wheel spacers as the wheels look a little lost in the aches. Will be painting calipers black as the blue chipped a bit. Probably a few smaller bits as i need to get my other car up and running now.

My fastest i got at santa pod was 14.6 seconds @ 98mph. I was hoping for 14dead but my reaction times were too slowwww !

Hows your hybrid running ? Got your clutch done yet ?

Today i had a bit of free time so fitted the whiteline rear anti roll bar.

I have it set to medium to see how i get on with it. Only driven 2 miles with a boot full of tools rattling around but can feel the difference. Much flatter around the corners. Will take my tools out and go out again later.

Well well well . . .

Not alot has happened recently but i decided to bring the car off the road and sorn it since christmas. The car needed a bit of tlc. I feel like i have neglected the car lately but i will put this down to the purchase and renervation of my house.

While the car is off the road i plan on general service work and also modifications. Here is what i have planned:

Timing belt and water pump
Oil and filter change
Replace ns outer cv boot
Replace leaking radiator
Tidy up boost gauge wiring/tubing
Look at fitting new os lower front grille
Fix inop aircon
Remove and possibly rebuild gearbox

Modifications:

Milltek decat pipe
Milltek centre section (non res)
Custom downturned backbox
Bosio r783 nozzles fitted to the pd130 injector bodies
Allard egr delete pipe
Superpro rear engine bush
Aem water methanol injection kit

Firstly a few days before the car came off the road i fitted 10mm front wheels spacers but no fitted pics (yet):

I fixed my nackered door microswitch by replacing just the switch

And a few nights back i removed the gearbox to get stripped down/rebuilt. I have been struggling to get 1st and reverse occasionally. On removing the gearbox i noticed no sign of grease on the input shaft but still stripped the box to check the selector forks

Also i have purchased a 2nd hand cylinder head inc valves, cam and rocker cover. Im unsure what im going to be doing with this yet but big valves, with port and polish may be on the cards

I will keep this progress up as i go

Unless you plan on going for a bigger turbo than the hybrid, I wouldnt bother with bigger injectors. Turbo wont be far off max flow. If you are planning on going for a bigger turbo though,I'd be more tempted to look at Firad +80% nozzles.

Cheers for that Tom. I hadn't really thought about bigger turbo but this would be one of the last things to purchase. I did have a quick glance at darkside big turbo kit and a look at the nozzles they can supply. What sort of meth to water % are you running ? Did it cut the smoke much ?

Where did you get the spacers from?

Hey phil. I got them off ebay - tried finding the company who i got them from. They were based in Birmingham - sorry i couldn't be any more use

Cool, no worrying on that.. I'll find some!

Just one more, do you know how much longer than standard those bolts are?

And get some photos!

Im not running the water/meth any more. It's still all plumbed in, but only time i might use it is when ambient and intake temps are high, and it will be 100% water. Saw no real benefit from the meth, and had a piston crack last year, which I feel was probably contibuted to by methanol.

The bolts were 10mm longer than standard. So all good with the 10mm spacers

Oh dear. Thats never good. Will go and have a read of your progress thread as i don't think i have been near it yet.

I have now received my cylinder head. Comes with rocker cover, cam, rockers, valves and glow plugs. Bit unsure what i will be doing with it yet

A few bits have arrived the last few days.

Firstly i decided to replace the lower dogbone mount. I have gone for a 70k Superpro bush.
Heres the bush pressed in:

5a79b9ad.jpg

Also i have decided to go for an Allard egr delete pipe

484d9070.jpg

While i had my boost pipes off i noticed the turbo outlet joint was quite restrictive. I did a bit of research and found out its a turbo noise dampener which reduces the whistle of the turbo. Either way i decided to chop a spare that i had.

Standard vs chopped

And bits i chopped out

My next plan is to get rid of the standard intercooler pipework and go for silicone and hard pipes

Standard mismatched items
