i only did the centre caps ;)

my mate did it... the kit cost him a fortune if im honest. I am still a bit scared of using a gun... you can really deliver the paint on thick! its crazy.

i fecked up a spare wheel he had because i didnt realise the amount of paint you can spray!

The paint cost £24 because he had some bits, but took him 20hours or so because they were filthy, curbed and the paint was quite runny tbh, even though we mixed it perfectly.

Car has been into the bodyshop lately, after some silly cow drove into it. not much damage just a crack or two to the rear bumper. whilst it was in i had a scuff done on the front, and the wing sorted (was pushed in near the headlight and rusty) also had it machine polished.

Has got lots of the swirls and that out, theres a few bits that still need attention but that will be in the future :)

no pics at the moment, she hasnt been washed and waxed/polished since.

At the weekend im getting a new exhaust hopefully, but i have a few decisions to make:

  • Oval Tip or Twin Exit as i have now
  • Mid Sport or Full Sport (Full is mental loud im told)
  • How big to have the rear box
  • Get them to remove the milltek midsection

all of these things are scrambling my brain. im thinking of going:

Twin Exit - Mid Sport, Half the size of the milltek box and remove midsection too.

hmm!

hey dude.

not much mate just the above really... trying to save for a mortgage which isnt really letting me do much with the car :(

only reason im getting the exhaust is because i think i can shift the milltek for the price i pay for the new one lol.

i see no much has changed on yours apart from the FMIC. i keep toying with FMICing mine, but i think id want a new engine and turbo first lol

Good to hear you got the car sorted Tom :)

Which 3" decat did you go for in the end? Had a quick scan of the thread but didn't see anything mentioned.

cheers mate :)

just the ebay special pal.

Pro's:

Cheap, fits lovely, increase in spooling and noise

Cons:

Welds look a bit shite, it goes 3" down to standard exhaust diameter which is a bit **** because it then goes up to the milltek size which is 2.75"

All in all though im happy :)

car's book in on Friday, catback custom :)

on a scale of 1-10 loudness i opted for 7 :D easiest way was to scale it for them lol. just gotta decide tips now.

as for droning, my wonderful missus pointed out, my stereo is SO loud i wont hear it lol.

Sell my Milltek system on and hopefully the custom wont have cost much :)

Love the wheels
I really wanna do mine red
Hmm don't need a Lcr to fit the interior ;-)

i cant justify the cost of the LCR interior if im honest. i want the doorcards mainly to get rid of the locking pins... and i may well pick some buckets up and recover them. something ive always wanted to have a go at!

How'd you get on with the new exhaust then? :)

Well! what a ballache.

where to start...

Short version: Good work, timekeeping is a slight issue!!

Long version:

Turn up at 2:15pm, and im told there is a half hour wait. no worries i think... and sit in the car with the missus.

2 hours later they get me into the garage and get me up in the air. they then took an hour getting the milltek off the car when i only took 20minutes before!

the car thens at on the ramps for three hours because the main guy welding was busy on another car and flicking about/texting etc.

once he actually started on my car it took him about an hour to make the system, catback with no middle box and a smallish backbox.

needless to say i was f*cking livid by the time it was done, i paid and left at 9.30pm!

I would recommend them because the work is good but their time keeping is shocking. if i have to go back for anything (lifetime warranty) i will be kicking up a stink to get mine sorted first.

Now, onto the exhaust. its lovely. sounds brilliant to me. gurgles something chronic when you let it cruise down in gear. i get small pops when giving it beans already, but im doubtful i will get "proper" pops but who knows once the box has coked up.

so, a mixed bag of emotions for the garage but in regards to the exhaust im well pleased!
