Hi guys, in a long time lurker and have finally bought a lcr which I love, she's a 2004 225 and is near enough standard apart from a forge 007p and group n engine mount.

Question is, the forge is disappointing in terms of the noise, I know its recirc rather that atmospheric but is there something I can do to get some noise from dumping? A different valve? An adjustment?

I had thought about that but didn't think it would make a huge difference. I read somewhere about reversing the forge but didn't really understand what this did?

also remove the sound deadening material from the underside of the bonnet, this makes a difference. My 007P with open cone filter sounds just as good as an atmospheric valve.

I have just fit mine over Xmas. I put my forge 007p on whilst I was using the standard air box and there was no noise. I now have put have a carboni open cone filter from awsome gti on and you can hear it sounds good :)

It won't make much noise as your only running standard boost pressure (about 10psi I think) get it mapped (20psi) and you'll hear it much better. Also take off the under bonnet sound deadning.

You need a cone filter to here the noise, i find if you look for an induction kit you will usually get ripped off, all you need is an 80mm cone filter, make sure it is cotton gause at least, a Jetex is a good buy i have a foam ITG and i find that it is a bit better in terms of flow and allows better sound travel, you will be able to the the turbo much better like this, your 007p will also sound goo and make a nice woosh sound, if you flip it the other way as both of my friends have done with theres it will make a cool "chink" noise, just have a mess about its really easy to do.

I was in the same situation as you, 2004 LCR 225, forge 007p with standard airbox. Bought the Open cone air filter with heatshield from awesome-gti and removed the sound deadening. Even on standard boost the noise is really loud, sounds awesome when boosting up to, completely changed the sound of the car and i :) everytime it boosts up! Oh and deffo get a remap, transforms the performance completely!
