Where's my Hill Hold Control?

Got the MY12 Leon FR 1.4 TSi, and am very pleased with it so far.

But, brochure says I should have "Hill Hold Control".
I have tried it as it says in emmanuel, but each time I roll backwards.

Am I doing something wrong, or does it need a trip to the dealers?

Thanks,
dv.

My 60 plate FR should have it also, but it doesn't work. May have to get the dealer to look at it at the first service at the end of the month.

It was disabled in VCDS, so I ticked the box to say it was installed but it put the TC & ABS lights on on the dash.

Seems some Skodas were advertised as having it but it didn't work/wasn't enabled.

Appears to work ok on mine but I have a DSG box if that makes a difference.

My september 2010 Cupra had it. My december 2010 Cupra R doesnt. Seems rather weird that it doesnt. But imo its rather rubbish anyway. Holds the rear brakes on for to long, just takes to much acceleration to get it to disengage. Compared to a Grande Punto I had years ago, the hill holder was far better on that.

The harshness of the hill hold can be adjusted!

It depends on the steeeepness of the hill. Mine does it on some not others, when i want it to. Id like to make it more sensitive. Hows the fr? I got the sport tsi 1.4 afew months ago i love love love it

Early days yet - still only 800 miles, so still driving like Miss Daisy is in the back.

Ironically, my manual Ecomotive with a proper clutch has HHC, but my 09-reg pre-facelift FR DSG - which really needed it tbh - didn't come with it! I understand all DSG Leons come with it as standard now.

I find it pretty useful but it only seems to be triggered on steeper inclines.

How can you adjust it? (guessing vagcom)

I know on my Ibiza (manual g'box) it only activates if you put the car into neutral on a hill with your foot on the brake. I have stalled due to it but am getting used to it now.

cheers

Erm no need to put it into neutral. 1st Gear and just pull away for me. Simples :D

My 06 FR has a few devices for starting on a hill - the brake pedal, the handbrake, the clutch and the accelerator. Usually does the trick just fine for me.

My 57 plate FR DSG could of done with it but don't need it on the TDI as a slight lift of the clutch bites perfectly.

Doesnt sound like youve got it at all fella......

It does have it, I'm just getting used to how it works as never had it before on other cars. Tried it out tonight and yes it does work in gear as well as neutral. Not sure of its true worth though, I've always been ok with clutch and handbrake. It's just one more thing to go wrong!

ive got used to it now, i wonder if going to another car without it will probably catch me out, and it makes life a lot easier than constantly being on your clutch or handbrake in traffic up a hill imo

+1. It's definitely in the category of "solution to a problem which didn't exist", but now that I'm used to it, I appreciate it e.g. when queuing through a multistorey carpark.

perfect example shrimp. I went to see Lee evans in brum the other month, car park was hell to get out of after and if it wasnt for hill hold id either have no handrake left or my clutch would be on fire

I have it, just come to a complete stop on a uphill slope in 1st gear (or a downhill slope when in reverse), then take your foot off the brake and it will hold you for a couple of seconds or until you engage the clutch.

I've got so used to using it now it's just natural, I'm not used to rolling back at all in any car now (our work vans are all automatic so they don't roll anywhere), it's gonna be horrible when I drive another manual car without it.
