good luck mo , I'm surprised you managed to get the strut brace over the the inter cooler piping , cause the last time that was your issue

Cheer's bro, I re-done the whole pipe work to perfection, well the best it can be without sticking out here and there, without not being able to put the grills on, without rubbing of any kind and of course without coming in the way of the strut brace.

Hows the HULK coming along? we need to link soon.

sin that one but it wont fit an s3 , only for k03 powered with 4wd i think the prop shafts gets in the way . think your right why bother with stage 1 and 2 when i no i i will go BT, i was breifing speaking to revo which stated they can map the car to run compliant with stock internals cap the power to 300bhp and 310ft/lbs until i get the rods done , dunno if thats the right way of going about it though

+1 , kev at revo reckons more hybrids bend rods than big turbo set ups , he confirms they've done loads with stock internals that are still running perfect

Lol!, I need to find myself a decent aluminium fabricator / welder, shocking I can't find one in Birmingham to redo the right hand side piping to my own customer design.

No bother mate, rather you then some random troll, I'm glad your seeing sense, I hope it all works out for you bro.

Thanks bro, Cossy especially in Escort guise is just a timeless classic which still looks stunning like a modern car, old school mechanics, engine and raw performance, I'd LOVE to own one myself, I just don't have the resources!

UPDATE

SAM_0371.jpg

SAM_0370.jpg

SAM_0372.jpg

It was a beautiful sunny day today, and a day well spent, after a morning at Stealth Racing, I don't know whether to be disappointed or happy, results?

from 227.4 Bhp the car now produces......... wait for it.... 227.0 Bhp !, yes that's a 0.4Bhp LOSS?!!!

from 244 lbs/ft of torque the car now produces........... 261.3 lbs/ft of torque !!! :funk:

New BHP RR results:

New Torque RR results:

03-10-2011102609PM.jpg

Now a comparison plot against the old results when the car was first custom mapped from scratch to Stage 2, the top result is the new results, the bottom is the old results:

Comparison BHP

Comparison Torque

As you can see quite the difference between the two, no more clutch slip top end, but boost still dropping off pretty quick

Now Vince @ Stealth checked everything on the car, and confirmed everything is in fantastic working order, after about 4-5 runs on the RR, with live logging of crucial blocks VCDS but he just could not get any more out of my car, he said it drops boost pretty quick and the only thing he and his team can think off that's causing this could be the turbo itself or possibly the turbo actuator, after all my car is on 70K and I do drive it hard, don't we all?! He tested the boost at the n75 point before the inter-cooler and it seem's I'm loosing about 3 'ish PSI through the inter-cooler system, a sign of the inter-cooler being too big for the turbo? No boost leaks were found what so ever! So he tweaked the fuel / timing a bit more and in the end, the car's producing more torque mid-range, and it sure feels like it! VROOM VROOM indeed

Vince @ Stealth Racing is great at what he does, I have complete faith in his abilities, very impressive indeed, my car's not broke so I'm not really going to fix this, these are after all small turbo's hence they get tired quickly, especially when pushed to it's limits, if it POPS, so be it, I'd get it replaced / rebuilt or if I'm feeling the car at the time, Hybrid it, we'll see what the future holds.

I just need to bolt them down from underneath now, even though they are sturdy as is, I'm not going to risk it.

One last snap for the day, I like this one:

Glad to here mo , to be honest despite what people say 230 is about max figure you will be getting from that turbo new or old , I have had 4 cupras and maxed the tuning on 3 I never got 240 . Your car is one of the cleanest cupras out there keep it up mo. Part of me wants to see you go hybrid :)

I know mate and I accept that, there are more K03's out there with the same results then the ones who claim 250 Bhp, I really can't see that to be any more then happy rollers / dyno lottery. Vince himself testified that no K03S has gone beyond 235 on his rollers ..... that's good enough for me. I can't expect miracles from a tiny turbo.

Car is coming along nicely Mo :D

I'm the guy who sold you some parts, from Sutton Coldfield

You mentioned you are finding it hard to get a decent aluminium welder to do some IC piping.

There is a bloke i know up close to Bham Uni in Selly Oak who fixes alloys, he does a lot of fabrication, mainly things like motorcycle petrol tanks.

His number is 0121 414 1794, can't remember his name  But just say that you fixed an alloy for a friend and i am sure he can sort something out for you.

Going to start a readers ride thread of my own soon, got quite a few plans for my LCR

Hi mate

Yea i remember, still got the LCR. No longer LPG powered, removed it a few months ago, was never set up properly so ran like a dog. Going to stick with petrol now, although it does hurt my wallet a bit more
